Jewish Congressman Run Off the Road by Pro-Palestinian Radical in Ohio

Max Miller calls out growing antisemitism as suspect shouts “Death to Israel” before fleeing scene.

The escalating wave of antisemitic hatred in America just took a dangerous turn.

Rep. Max Miller (R-OH), a Jewish member of Congress and U.S. Marine veteran, revealed Thursday that he was “run off the road” in Rocky River, Ohio, by a man displaying a Palestinian flag and screaming violent threats. The assailant allegedly shouted “Death to Israel” and threatened to kill Miller and his family before fleeing the scene.

“The deranged hatred in this country has gotten out of control,” Miller posted on X. “This was blatant antisemitic violence.”

According to the Rocky River Police Department, an investigation is underway and a police report has been filed with both local authorities and the U.S. Capitol Police.

  • Miller said the attacker attempted to flag him down, then tried to run his car off the road.

  • The suspect brandished a Palestinian flag and shouted death threats.

  • Thankfully, Miller’s daughter was not in the car at the time of the incident.

“This was not just a road rage incident,” Miller said in a video statement. “This was a targeted, hate-fueled attack. We know who this person is, and he will face justice.”

House colleagues immediately rallied around the Ohio Republican. “Unacceptable,” said Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA). “No one should face antisemitic threats. This has to stop.” Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) added, “I COMPLETELY stand with you, Congressman Miller. Antisemitism has NO PLACE ANYWHERE.”

This attack comes amid a sharp rise in antisemitic violence in the U.S., which spiked after Hamas’ October attacks on Israel. Jewish Americans have faced everything from campus threats to synagogue attacks to physical violence in broad daylight. In recent months, a firebombing in Boulder, a double stabbing at the Israeli Embassy, and an arson attack on Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro’s home have all rocked the Jewish community.

Miller didn’t mince words: “I will continue to fight against antisemitism, Islamophobia, and all other forms of hate. But if you try to run me off the road that’s a different story. We know who you are, and the police are going to be paying you a visit.”

Hatred isn’t speech. It’s violence and it’s time to take it seriously.
