James Carville Critiques Biden ‘He Has Only Himself to Blame’ for Legacy Issues

Veteran Democrat strategist says the party is moving on from Biden.

Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville did not hold back in his recent criticism of former President Joe Biden, blaming him for what Carville described as a self-inflicted, tarnished legacy. Speaking on the “Politics War Room” podcast, Carville urged Biden to retreat from public life entirely.

“What he’s done to himself is no one wants to hear from this guy anymore,” Carville said bluntly. “Okay, just go to your condo in Rehoboth and stay there. And that’s not because we’re bad people or we’re mean people. It was all his doing. All his doing, this entire thing.”

Carville, a staunch critic of the Democratic Party’s drift toward “woke” ideology, argued that Biden’s missteps had alienated not only the American public but also his own party. He dismissed Biden’s repeated claims that he could have defeated Donald Trump in November had he remained in the race.

“No one f***ing believes that at all!” Carville said, slamming the notion as unrealistic and detached from political reality.

Carville highlighted Biden’s diminishing relevance, even within Democratic circles. “The party’s moving on. I mean, they’re really moving on, and it’s very sad, but that’s just where we are,” he said, lamenting the fallout of Biden’s final political acts.

His co-host, Al Hunt, suggested that Biden’s role in the national dialogue was essentially over, advising the former president to focus on legacy projects such as building a presidential library.

Carville took it further, warning that any attempt by Biden to remain active in public politics would likely do more harm than good. “If he insists on playing a role moving forward, it’s going to be a negative one,” Carville said.

For Carville, Biden’s political decline is the result of his own decisions. “He has nobody to blame but himself. Nobody,” Carville declared, underscoring his belief that the damage to Biden’s reputation and influence was entirely self-inflicted.

As the Democratic Party looks ahead to the 2024 elections, Carville’s comments reflect growing sentiment within the party that Biden’s era is over, and it’s time for a new generation of leadership to take the reins.
