Ivanka Trump Delivers Starlink Terminals to North Carolina After Devastating Hurricane

As southeastern states recover from Hurricane Helene, Ivanka Trump and the Love and Light Foundation step in with life-saving internet connectivity.

Ivanka Trump, in partnership with the Love and Light Foundation, has stepped up to deliver much-needed aid to North Carolina, one of the hardest-hit areas in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. The southeastern states were devastated by the storm, with millions of people left without power, internet access, or cell phone service. In response, Ivanka and her team flew in 300 Starlink terminals, providing satellite internet to remote areas affected by severe flooding.

The United Cajun Navy, a search and rescue organization, posted a video on X showing hundreds of Starlink units arriving in the region, expressing their gratitude to Ivanka and the Love and Light Foundation. Starlink, a satellite internet service developed by Elon Musk's SpaceX, is offering these terminals free for 30 days to help victims of the hurricane stay connected. This internet access is critical for coordinating disaster relief, enabling communications, and helping victims rebuild their lives.

“YUGE shout out to @IvankaTrump and the Love and Light Foundation for flying in 300 STARLINK units for the #Helene victims of the #NorthCarolinaFlood,” the United Cajun Navy’s post read.

Starlink is also committed to aiding those affected by natural disasters. In a post on X, Starlink explained, "Starlink aims to enable anyone impacted by a natural disaster to access internet connectivity." The service’s website further detailed how victims of Hurricane Helene could apply for 30 days of free internet in affected areas.

Elon Musk himself weighed in, assuring that the terminals would "work automatically without need for payment" in these impacted zones. Musk confirmed that his company has been rapidly sending Starlink units to areas in need, and former President Donald Trump played a key role in the effort. After traveling to the affected areas, Trump said he had spoken to Musk about getting Starlink deployed as quickly as possible. Musk later posted on X, “Earlier today, @realDonaldTrump alerted me to additional people who need Starlink Internet in North Carolina. We are sending them terminals right away.”

This rapid response comes as Hurricane Helene’s destruction leaves a trail of devastation across Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Virginia, with the death toll already reaching 180 and expected to rise. Many families remain displaced, with widespread outages and broken communication networks making it even harder to recover.

The Biden administration, in typical fashion, has tried to take credit for the effort, with a spokesperson for FEMA claiming that they had already planned Starlink deliveries, according to NBC. However, it's clear that Ivanka Trump and her foundation took the initiative to get boots on the ground and aid directly to those in need something the Biden administration has struggled to do efficiently.

With Starlink terminals providing a crucial lifeline in these areas, communities ravaged by Hurricane Helene are getting the tools they need to begin rebuilding. This is a perfect example of private sector leadership stepping in where government bureaucracy often lags behind, ensuring that victims of the hurricane get help when they need it most.
