Families Of Israeli Hostages Condemn Biden’s Interference In Hamas Conflict

Israeli group calls Biden's pressure on Israel "unacceptable" and demands respect for their leadership.

The Tikva Forum for Families of Hostages, representing the families of those kidnapped during Hamas’ October 7 terrorist attack, has urged President Joe Biden to cease his interference with Israel’s efforts to dismantle the terrorist organization.

Their statement follows Biden’s erroneous claims during a press conference that Israel had proposed a new comprehensive plan, which Israel categorically denies. Biden criticized Israel for seeking "total victory" over Hamas, claiming it wouldn’t provide lasting security.

Hamas responded positively to Biden’s speech, which further infuriated the families. "The Biden administration’s continued pressure on the Israeli government’s decision-making during this existential war is unacceptable," the group declared. "The outline proposed by President Biden endangers the future of the State of Israel."

They implored Biden to trust Israel’s judgment and experience in handling the Middle East crisis. "Hamas must be completely destroyed. Any sign of weakness will only empower them to commit another massacre," they stressed. The families argued that allowing Gazans to return to the northern Gaza Strip before the release of all hostages would undermine Israel’s leverage, potentially costing lives.

In a direct appeal to Biden, they urged him to respect Israel's decisions and stand by them as a true ally during this critical period.

The Biden administration also published a graphic outlining a plan they claimed Israel had agreed to, which Israel swiftly refuted. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office clarified that Israel’s actual proposal allows it to continue the war until all objectives, including the destruction of Hamas’s military and governing capabilities, are achieved. "Israel's conditions for ending the war have not changed," Netanyahu's office reiterated. "The destruction of Hamas, the release of all hostages, and ensuring Gaza no longer threatens Israel remain non-negotiable conditions."

Nearly 12 hours later, Netanyahu’s office issued another statement, emphasizing that any permanent ceasefire would only follow the fulfillment of these conditions. Israel remains firm that it will not agree to a ceasefire under any other terms.
