Israel Destroys Houthi Terror Base at Yemen’s Capital Airport

Coordinated with the U.S., Israel’s precision strike cripples key Iranian proxy hub in Sanaa as Trump’s hardline policy forces consequences for terror.

Israel delivered a crushing blow to Iran’s terror network on Tuesday, launching a precision airstrike that fully disabled the main airport in Yemen’s capital of Sanaa, which the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) say was a “central hub for the Houthi terrorist regime.”

The strike came less than 48 hours after a Houthi ballistic missile hit near Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport, injuring six civilians. This is now the second major Israeli strike on the Iranian-backed Houthis in as many days and the first since President Donald Trump resumed office, renewing a strategy of unapologetic military retaliation against terror.

“The IDF is determined to continue operating, at any distance, against all threats posed to the citizens of the State of Israel,” the military said in a statement.

  • Around 20 Israeli fighter jets struck the Sanaa International Airport, destroying runways, aircraft, and critical infrastructure.

  • The IDF also hit the Al Imran Concrete Plant used by Houthis to construct underground tunnels and terror infrastructure as well as multiple power stations believed to support terrorist operations.

The Israeli Air Force had issued an Arabic-language warning to civilians just an hour before the attack, urging them to evacuate the airport and surrounding areas.

According to Israeli intelligence, the airport was routinely used by the Houthis to transfer Iranian weapons, personnel, and equipment in direct violation of international law and humanitarian norms.

“This underscores the Houthi terrorist regime’s brutal exploitation of civilian infrastructure for terrorist activity,” the IDF said.

Iran’s fingerprints are all over this. The Houthis have acted as a proxy for the Iranian regime, launching over 400 attacks on Israeli and international targets since the war erupted in October 2023.

  • The U.S. has struck over 800 Houthi targets in recent months, eliminating hundreds of fighters and leaders.

  • Houthi missile and drone attacks are down by 69% and 55%, respectively, according to U.S. military sources.

President Trump, who vowed in March that “every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon as a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN,” is making good on his warning. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth reiterated last week that Iran will “pay the consequence” for supporting its terror tentacles in Yemen.

Tuesday’s strike was approved by the IDF’s Chief of the General Staff and coordinated with the United States, a clear indication that the Trump administration is fully aligned with Israel’s right to retaliate and protect its people from Iranian-backed terror.

“The Iranian regime will bear direct responsibility for any attack by the Houthi tentacle,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz warned.

The world is now watching a drastically different Middle East policy under Trump one that holds Tehran accountable, targets terror infrastructure without hesitation, and refuses to hide behind diplomatic illusions.

As Israel and the U.S. continue their campaign to crush the Houthi threat, one thing is certain: this war is no longer being fought with one hand tied behind our back.
