IDF Rescues Another Hostage From Hamas

Israeli forces continue daring operations, freeing Bedouin father abducted by terrorists.

On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced another successful hostage rescue from the clutches of Hamas, the terrorist organization responsible for the October 7 attacks. The operation freed Qaid Farhan Alkadi, a Bedouin Muslim and father of 11, who had been seized by Hamas in the southern community of Mivtahim.

Alkadi, 52, worked as a security guard at a packing factory in Kibbutz Magen and lived near Rahat, a city in southern Israel. His rescue was carried out by commandos from the elite Shayetet 13 unit, supported by the IDF Southern Command, the Shin Bet security agency, and the IDF’s 162nd Division. Alkadi was found inside a tunnel in Gaza, underscoring the complexity and danger of the operation.

The IDF shared the news on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Today, the IDF and ISA rescued the hostage Qaid Farhan Alkadi, aged 52, from Rahat, who was abducted by the Hamas terrorist organization into Gaza on October 7. He is in a stable medical condition and is being transferred for medical checks at a hospital. His family has been updated with the details, and the IDF is accompanying them. Israeli security forces will continue to operate with all means to bring home the hostages.”

Footage of Alkadi’s family joyfully reuniting with him at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva quickly circulated, capturing the emotional impact of the rescue. “I can’t explain this feeling, it’s better even than the arrival of a new baby,” Alkadi’s brother said, expressing the family’s relief and gratitude.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant praised the IDF’s efforts on X, noting that this operation was part of Israel’s broader strategy to bring all hostages home. He emphasized, “Israel is committed to taking advantage of every opportunity to return the hostages home to Israel.”

This latest rescue is a significant victory for Israel, which continues to face the aftermath of the brutal October 7 attacks. On that day, Hamas terrorists killed over 1,200 people in Israel and abducted 251 hostages. While many hostages remain in captivity, with some believed to have been killed by Hamas, Israel’s ongoing operations offer a glimmer of hope for those still waiting for their loved ones to return.
