House Panel Moves To Subpoena Bill And Hillary Clinton In Epstein Investigation

GOP-led Oversight Committee expands probe amid renewed calls for transparency.

The House Oversight Committee is turning up the heat on the Epstein scandal. On Wednesday, a panel of lawmakers voted to authorize subpoenas for former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as part of a broader investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s network and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) introduced the motion during a subcommittee hearing, listing several high-profile names he believes should be compelled to testify. “I have a motion to subpoena the following individuals to expand the full committee’s investigation into Miss Maxwell – and the list reads as follows: William Jefferson Clinton, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, James Brian Comey, Loretta Elizabeth Lynch, Eric Hampton Holder, Jr., Merrick Brian Garland, Robert Swan Mueller III, William Pelham Barr, Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, and Alberto Gonzales,” Perry said. The motion passed by voice vote.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) will need to officially issue the subpoenas for them to take effect, but an Oversight Committee aide confirmed to Fox News Digital that the subpoenas “will be issued in the near future.”

Key developments in the probe:

  • Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA), a progressive “Squad” member, also pushed for a subpoena of all files related to Epstein, which passed in an 8-2 vote.

  • The Oversight Committee already issued a subpoena to Ghislaine Maxwell after a unanimous GOP-led vote earlier this week.

  • Republicans are pushing for the Department of Justice to unseal grand jury files, while Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to pursue transparency around Epstein’s connections.

The move comes amid growing political tension over the handling of Epstein’s case. A recent DOJ memo essentially declared the matter “closed,” drawing criticism from both sides of the aisle. Conservatives have accused the DOJ and intelligence agencies of stonewalling, while Democrats have used the renewed spotlight to demand further disclosures.

Bill Clinton has long faced scrutiny over his relationship with Epstein, having flown on Epstein’s private jet multiple times. While Clinton denies any wrongdoing, Republicans on the committee argue that full transparency is needed to restore public trust. Fox News Digital has reached out to the Clinton Foundation for comment but has not yet received a response.

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) added an amendment to ensure that any Biden administration communications related to Epstein would also be released. “The American people deserve answers,” Biggs stated.

As the Epstein investigation re-emerges as a political flashpoint, the subpoenas targeting the Clintons are likely to intensify partisan battles. The controversy could have broader implications for 2024, particularly as Trump has vowed to fully expose Epstein’s network and any political figures connected to it.
