Hamas Operative Admits Terrorists and Weapons Are Hidden in Hospitals to Deter Israeli Strikes

A Hamas terrorist captured by Israeli forces has admitted that the group hides its fighters and weapons inside hospitals to deter Israeli airstrikes, confirming what Israel has long asserted: Hamas uses civilians as human shields.

In a video released by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), 21-year-old Anas Muhammad Faiz Al-Sharif, a Hamas operative, details how terrorists move weapons through hospitals and take cover among patients and medical staff. His confession exposes Hamas’ blatant violations of international law, specifically the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which classifies using civilians as human shields as a war crime.

Al-Sharif worked at Kamal Adwan Hospital in Gaza as a cleaning supervisor while also serving in Hamas’ elite Nukhba forces, the unit responsible for the October 7 massacre in Israel. When interrogators asked why Hamas militants were hiding in the hospital, his answer was clear.

"They believe it is a safe haven for them because the military cannot directly target it," he said. "Because there are civilians and patients there. They think the military cannot bomb it, such as with a missile from an F-16 or by demolishing the building."

Al-Sharif further described how Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters transported AK-47s, pistols, grenades, and anti-tank weapons in and out of the hospital under the cover of night. These weapons were then distributed through tunnels and command centers to attack Israeli forces.

Hamas' strategy isn’t new, but this on-camera admission provides undeniable proof. The group has used hospitals, schools, and even U.N. facilities as cover for years, daring Israel to respond and then using civilian casualties as propaganda. Despite this, international critics continue to condemn Israel while ignoring Hamas’ blatant war crimes.

The reality is simple: Hamas deliberately puts Palestinian civilians in harm’s way to shield its terror operations. As Israel continues its mission to eliminate the terrorist threat, the world must finally recognize that Hamas not Israel is responsible for the suffering of the people in Gaza.
