Hamas Rejects Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

Terror group dismisses proposal as “one-sided” while exploiting hostages and ceasefires to rebuild.

President Donald Trump unveiled a 20-point peace proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza, freeing 48 Israeli hostages, and securing long-term regional stability. But as expected, Hamas has made clear it has no interest in peace only in power.

In an interview with the BBC, a senior Hamas official declared that the group would reject the plan outright, accusing it of favoring Israel and "ignoring the Palestinian people." The reality? Hamas rejects any plan that doesn't allow it to continue its reign of terror over Gaza.

Among Trump’s key conditions were:

  • The disarmament of Hamas

  • Deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza

  • Release of all Israeli hostages

These are non-starters for the terrorist group, which has no intention of giving up its weapons or allowing any form of oversight. Despite earlier reports from CBS News suggesting Palestinian factions were giving the proposal “responsible consideration,” Hamas is reverting to its usual tactics deny, deflect, and delay.

Speaking from the White House on Monday after meeting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Trump made his position crystal clear:

“If Hamas rejects the deal... then Israel would have my full backing to finish the job of destroying Hamas.”

The rejection came swiftly. Senior Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi slammed the proposal as a “one-sided” ploy to entrench occupation. He claimed the plan was never officially shared with Hamas an obvious stalling tactic and doubled down on the group’s commitment to “armed resistance,” which is code for ongoing terror.

But the real story isn’t just the rejection. It’s the strategy behind it.

Documents recovered by the IDF from the computer of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ top commander in Gaza, reveal a cynical and calculated effort to manipulate global media, hostage families, and ceasefire agreements all to buy time for Hamas to rebuild its broken infrastructure.

Key takeaways from the leaked document include:

  • No mention of Palestinian civilian suffering

  • Instructions to exploit hostage families emotionally during ceasefires

  • Tactics to prolong negotiations and delay military consequences

  • Use of Arab “peacekeeping” forces as a cover for re-arming

This document, first reported by Bild and later confirmed by Israel Hayom, is nothing short of damning. It exposes Hamas as not only disinterested in peace, but actively weaponizing the very concept of negotiation to regain strength.

While Palestinian civilians continue to suffer, Hamas remains focused on one goal: survival of its regime at all costs. Ceasefires are nothing more than strategic pauses, hostages are emotional leverage, and media appearances are smoke and mirrors.

In 2023, Hamas received over $500 million in international aid, much of it meant for humanitarian relief. Instead, it funneled resources into tunnels, rockets, and propaganda operations. Meanwhile, nearly 70% of Gazans live in poverty a crisis entirely engineered by the group claiming to defend them.

With Hamas now formally rejecting the Trump plan, the road forward is clearer than ever. There is no negotiating with terrorists who refuse to lay down arms, reject peacekeeping forces, and view hostages as tools for psychological warfare.

It's time the world stops treating Hamas like a legitimate political actor and starts recognizing it for what it truly is: a violent, deceptive terror group with zero regard for human life Palestinian or Israeli.

If the goal is peace, Hamas is the obstacle not the partner.
