Greene Says Trump Was ‘Extremely Unkind’ After Death Threats to Her Family

Outgoing congresswoman claims Trump showed no sympathy after warning him of assassination threats targeting her son.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene dropped a political bombshell this week, accusing President Donald Trump of responding with "shocking" and "extremely unkind" words after she informed him that her family including her son had received direct death threats tied to their recent public falling out.

Speaking to CNN’s Pamela Brown on Tuesday, Greene described how she personally texted Trump after receiving threats she says were incited by his rhetoric and name-calling.

“It was shocking to me,” Greene said. “I sent those death threats directly to him in a text message and informed him of what his name-calling and words were doing… It was a direct assassination threat on my son. And he was extremely – I won’t repeat what he said – but it was extremely unkind. No sympathy. No care.”

Greene, who recently announced she would resign from Congress in January, has been in open conflict with the president since withdrawing her endorsement over his handling of the Epstein files and other internal policy disputes. Trump responded by labeling her a "traitor", igniting a storm of backlash that spilled over into threats against her family.

Greene also revealed that she had sent the same information and screenshots to Trump’s top aides chief of staff Susie Wiles and deputy chief of staff James Blair and received no reply.

“I would have expected Susie Wiles who’s a woman, a mother, a grandmother to at least say, ‘This is unacceptable. We’ll forward it to Kash Patel,’ or, ‘We’ll make sure your family is safe,’” Greene said. “Instead, silence.”

By contrast, Greene noted that Vice President JD Vance responded with kindness, and FBI Director Kash Patel replied simply with “on it.”

The White House confirmed that the messages Greene referenced were referred to the FBI, but has not issued any further comment on the president’s alleged response.

The timing of this latest fracture couldn’t be more politically charged. Greene’s remarks come just days after a “60 Minutes” interview in which she alleged that many Republicans privately mock Trump, only to fall in line the moment he clinched the 2024 nomination.

“I watched many of my colleagues go from making fun of him… to when he won the primary in 2024 they all started, excuse my language, Lesley, kissing his a-- and decided to put on a MAGA hat for the first time,” she told Lesley Stahl.

This rare public criticism from someone once considered a fierce Trump ally highlights the deep divisions within the Republican Party heading into 2026. It also raises serious questions about how dissent is treated in the MAGA movement and what political price is paid by those who speak out.

But even for Greene, known for her unfiltered rhetoric, the core of her concern remains the safety of her family and she’s making it clear that Trump failed that test.
