Marjorie Taylor Greene Slams GOP Leaders While Praising Pelosi’s Political Power
As Republicans stumble in key races, Greene demands results not excuses from her own party.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) shocked CNN viewers this week by doing something few expected praising Nancy Pelosi’s ability to get things done. But the message wasn’t about admiration. It was a blistering indictment of her own party’s failure to deliver on the America First agenda.
In the wake of Pelosi’s retirement announcement, Greene offered a rare bit of praise for the former Democrat Speaker, saying, “I’m very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party.”
Greene immediately followed up with a firm call for term limits, stating that people should “exit Washington a lot sooner rather than wait until their eighties.” But the core of her message was unmistakable: Republican leadership is failing the base, and voters are beginning to notice.
Her remarks came after another disappointing election week for Republicans, with Democrats securing victories in races that should’ve been competitive. While some GOP leaders tried to brush off the losses as anomalies, Greene made it clear this is a wake-up call.
“When you campaign on America First… and then don’t deliver America First, your customers aren’t coming back,” she said, comparing the party to a restaurant falsely advertising its menu.
Greene also turned a critical eye toward the Trump administration not because she opposes Trump, but because she believes he’s being misled by establishment insiders.
“Keeping him on nonstop tours around the world and nonstop meetings with foreign countries' leaders is not America First.”
Her critique centered on foreign distractions and weak domestic policy focus, warning that the White House has lost sight of why voters put Trump in office in the first place. She blamed both Congress and poor White House advising for pushing Trump away from core priorities.
Still, Greene affirmed her support for the former president, saying, “Trump may not be my biggest fan… and that’s OK.” Her loyalty to the America First agenda hasn’t wavered, even if she’s willing to challenge her own party’s leadership including Trump’s team when they fall short.
She also reminded viewers of why she entered politics in the first place, “I ran for Congress in 2020, frustrated with my own party… I feel like many Republican candidates campaign one way, and then when they get power, they do nothing with it.”
That frustration has made Greene one of the loudest and most unapologetic voices demanding real change from the Republican Party. While she’s no stranger to controversy, her message is striking a chord with a base that’s tired of empty promises and weak leadership.
Some important context:
Republicans lost ground in key battleground states this cycle despite Biden’s abysmal polling and a stagnant economy.
A recent Gallup poll showed 65% of GOP voters feel the party is out of touch with its base.
GOP leaders continue to avoid internal reform even as voter enthusiasm for traditional establishment candidates wanes.
As the government shutdown drags on and party leaders fail to unify around core principles, Greene’s words sound less like rebellion and more like reality. She’s not alone in calling for the GOP to get serious, get disciplined, and get results or get out of the way.
