Google Maps Updates to Recognize Trump’s Renaming of Gulf of America
The historic move reflects Trump’s push to restore American pride and reclaim national identity.

Google Maps has officially updated its system to reflect the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day back in office. The update was rolled out Monday, just a day after Trump declared February 9 as “Gulf of America Day” while aboard Air Force One.
The move is part of Trump’s broader push to reclaim America’s heritage and sovereignty. The renaming of the gulf historically intertwined with U.S. trade, security, and culture signifies a renewed focus on national pride and strength.
The decision was first announced in an executive order on January 20, 2025, Trump’s first day back in office.
The Gulf of America Day proclamation was made aboard Air Force One as Trump flew over the newly named waters on February 9, 2025.
Google swiftly updated its maps to reflect the change, signaling compliance with the administration’s directive.
Trump celebrated the moment with characteristic enthusiasm, calling it “even bigger than the Super Bowl” while en route to the game. His official proclamation emphasized the symbolic importance of the renaming:
“As my Administration restores American pride in the history of American greatness, it is fitting and appropriate for our great Nation to come together and commemorate this momentous occasion and the renaming of the Gulf of America.”
Naturally, the media and the left wasted no time in attacking the move, labeling it unnecessary and “controversial.” But Trump’s supporters see it for what it is: a strong reaffirmation of America’s dominance in its own hemisphere.
This marks yet another moment where Trump’s leadership directly challenges the globalist status quo and places America First. And as always, the country is better for it.
