SJP Leader Promotes Anti-Israel Agenda While Displaying ‘Death to Jews’ Signs and Hamas Flags
Anti-Israel agitators at George Mason face exposure after shocking discoveries.
The disturbing reality of pro-Palestinian activism on American college campuses is once again in the spotlight. A George Mason University student leader who once demanded the school condemn Israel for alleged "genocide" in Gaza has now been linked to antisemitic propaganda, terrorist flags, and firearms, leaving many to question how such extremism could be tolerated on U.S. campuses.
Jena Chanaa, former leader of George Mason’s now-suspended Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) chapter, had previously slammed the university for what she called “neutrality” on the Israel-Hamas war. Chanaa called for the university to take a stance against Israel during an April board meeting, declaring:
“Our students are forced to live through this nightmare… I implore you to place George Mason on the correct side of history.”
But disturbing details reveal far more about her “activism” than her public comments let on:
Police discovered Hamas and Hezbollah flags, along with “Death to Jews” signs, during a warranted search of the Chanaa family home.
Authorities also seized firearms and ammunition belonging to her brother, Mohammad Chanaa, citing concerns over “terroristic” materials and the family’s involvement in vandalism on campus.
Under Jena and Noor Chanaa's leadership, George Mason’s SJP chapter celebrated Hamas’ October 7 terrorist massacre, calling it “resistance” and framing it as reclaiming “occupied” land.
Mohammad Chanaa, who was linked to the destruction of property in August, had his weapons temporarily confiscated under Virginia’s red flag law. Shockingly, they were later returned by a circuit court judge. Meanwhile, Jena and Noor Chanaa were barred from campus for four years as punishment for their radical activities.
Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin minced no words when addressing the situation:
“These blatant and dangerous antisemitic acts pose a clear and present threat to Jewish students and the Jewish community in Virginia.”
Despite the serious findings, groups like CAIR and faculty advocates leapt to defend the Chanaas. CAIR accused law enforcement of “intimidation tactics,” while a faculty group expressed “deep concern” over the targeting of students for pro-Palestinian activism.
It’s not the first time groups like SJP have been accused of promoting extremism. The October 7 Hamas attack that SJP openly praised was one of the deadliest days for Israel in decades, with over 1,200 Israelis slaughtered most of them civilians. While Israel defended itself against these atrocities, SJP and its leadership across campuses chose to endorse and justify terrorism.
These revelations at George Mason University underscore a chilling trend: extremist rhetoric is escalating into real-world violence, weaponry, and open antisemitism. Universities that refuse to confront it are putting Jewish students and campus safety at risk.
As antisemitic incidents surge across the country, the time has come to hold organizations like Students for Justice in Palestine accountable. Their “activism” is no longer about human rights it’s about hate.
The Chanaa family’s case is not an isolated incident, and it raises a critical question for Americans: How much longer will we allow blatant antisemitism and glorification of terror to fester on our campuses?
