Gazans Take to the Streets to Protest Hamas Amid Intensifying IDF Strikes

Mass protests erupt in Gaza demanding Hamas’ ouster while Trump delivers real relief and Israel pushes to finish the job.

For the first time in nearly two decades, thousands of Gazans are taking to the streets in open defiance of Hamas, the terror group that has ruled over them with an iron fist since 2007. On Monday, residents in Khan Yunis chanted “Hamas out, out!” as Israeli Defense Forces escalated their latest campaign, Operation Gideon’s Chariots.

The protest comes as President Donald Trump’s American-backed humanitarian aid plan prepares to launch, bringing urgently needed relief directly to civilians while cutting Hamas out of the supply chain entirely.

According to Khalil Sayegh, a Gazan Christian activist, the protests represent a “clear rejection” of both Hamas’ political leadership and armed control over Gaza. “For 18 years, Hamas has suppressed any dissent and used the pretext of ‘resistance’ to justify its authoritarian crackdown,” Sayegh told Fox News.

His words ring true. Gazans are no longer buying the tired lies of “resistance.” They see the truth: endless destruction and death while Hamas leaders live comfortably and use humanitarian aid to line their pockets and buy weapons.

Some key facts:

  • This is the first mass protest in Gaza demanding Hamas’ removal since it seized power in 2007.

  • Protesters risk abduction and death; one demonstrator, Odai al-Rabei, was tortured and murdered by Hamas in March.

  • Graphic images of his mutilated body went viral, further fueling public outrage and fear over Hamas’s brutality.

While Biden’s team stays largely silent and the mainstream media downplays these events, Trump is stepping in with action, not platitudes. His plan, executed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), uses vetted American contractors to distribute food safely and securely without giving one bite to Hamas.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee laid out the vision clearly:
“President Trump wants food distributed in Gaza safely and efficiently,” he said. “Not one ounce of it should go to Hamas.”

Meanwhile, the IDF has intensified its military operations. Since Friday, hundreds of Hamas targets have been destroyed, including:

  • Tunnels, weapons storage sites, and missile launchers

  • Booby-trapped structures used to lure and kill IDF soldiers

  • Command centers buried beneath civilian infrastructure

Israel’s current offensive was accompanied by a rare evacuation order, urging civilians in Khan Yunis and surrounding suburbs to relocate to coastal zones yet another sign that the IDF is moving to finish what the Biden administration never had the will to start.

The contrast in leadership couldn’t be clearer:

  • Trump is helping civilians and crushing terrorists.

  • Biden enabled Hamas’ resurgence through appeasement and weak diplomacy.

  • Now Gazans themselves are saying “enough.”

Sayegh summed it up best: “Gazans are reclaiming their voices against corrupt ‘pro-Palestine’ NGOs and media mouthpieces who’ve been too cowardly to speak out.”

The walls are closing in on Hamas from all sides: militarily, economically, and now publicly.
