Fetterman Backs U.S. Action Against Iran
The Pennsylvania Democrat breaks ranks as pressure builds to confront a murderous regime and restore American strength abroad.

In a rare moment of clarity from the modern Democratic Party, Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania is openly supporting U.S. intervention against Iran’s brutal regime a stance that puts him at odds with his party’s reflexive weakness on foreign policy.
As Iran’s ruling clerics tighten their grip through violence, censorship, and mass killings, Fetterman is acknowledging what many Americans already understand tyranny does not negotiate in good faith, and it does not stop on its own.
On CNN this week, Fetterman said potential U.S. strikes against Iran “make sense” and that he is inspired by the courage of Iranian protesters who are risking their lives to overthrow a government that murders its own people to cling to power.
“They’re so desperate,” Fetterman said. “They killed the internet, and now they’re mowing down their own citizens.”
His comments come as horrifying reports emerge from inside Iran. Eyewitness accounts indicate the death toll has surged into the thousands as the regime fires on civilians, cuts off communications, and deploys security forces to crush dissent. This isn’t reform it’s survival mode for a collapsing dictatorship.
Why this moment matters:
Iran’s regime has reportedly killed thousands of civilians during the current unrest, signaling a complete breakdown of legitimacy.
Internet shutdowns and communication blackouts reveal a government terrified of transparency and accountability.
Protesters are demanding total regime change, not cosmetic political theater.
American credibility in the region hinges on whether the U.S. stands for freedom or retreats into isolation.
Fetterman went further, stating that the world would be “better, safer and more just” if the Iranian regime were broken. That’s a statement few Democrats would dare to say publicly and it underscores just how detached the party has become from reality on national security.
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich echoed that urgency, warning that there is no middle ground left. Either the regime falls, or the Iranian people will face even more brutal repression. History has repeatedly shown what happens when the free world hesitates while dictators consolidate power.
Consider the broader stakes:
Iran spends an estimated billions annually funding terror proxies across the Middle East, destabilizing allies and threatening U.S. interests.
The regime has violated international nuclear agreements multiple times, fueling global security risks.
Nearly 70% of Iran’s population is under the age of 35, a generation increasingly hostile to the clerics controlling their future.
This is precisely why President Trump’s firm posture matters. Unlike the appeasement policies of prior Democratic administrations, Trump has demonstrated that deterrence works when backed by real consequences. Strength keeps enemies in check. Weakness invites chaos.
Fetterman’s remarks may expose a growing fracture inside the Democratic Party between ideological radicals who excuse authoritarian behavior abroad and pragmatic voices who recognize evil when they see it. But one senator speaking out is not enough. Leadership requires action, not hand-wringing.
America cannot afford another era of apologetic foreign policy that empowers hostile regimes while abandoning those who fight for their freedom. If Iran’s rulers continue murdering their own citizens, the United States must be prepared to respond with clarity, conviction, and strength.
The free world is watching and so are the enemies of freedom.
