Fertility Clinic Bombing Suspect Linked to ‘Anti Pro-Life’ Writings, Officials Say
FBI says explosion was targeted act of domestic terrorism; suspect aimed to livestream attack on IVF facility.

Federal authorities have identified the deceased suspect in Saturday’s bombing outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, California, as 25-year-old Guy Edward Bartkus of Twentynine Palms, and revealed the attacker left behind a “violent anti pro-life manifesto.” Officials are now investigating the explosion as a targeted act of domestic terrorism.
“Bartkus is believed to be the individual who is deceased at the scene,” said U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli. “An anti pro-life manifesto believed to be authored by the suspect has been located and is being examined by the FBI.”
According to law enforcement, Bartkus intentionally detonated a vehicle bomb outside the American Reproductive Centers (ARC), attempting to livestream the attack in real time. The suspect’s silver Ford Fusion exploded in the parking lot, causing extensive damage to the ARC clinic and shattering windows blocks away.
Thankfully, despite several injuries, no staff were hurt and no embryos or reproductive materials were lost, ARC confirmed.
“All eggs, embryos, and reproductive materials remain fully secure and undamaged,” the clinic said in a statement. “We will be fully operational Monday morning.”
The FBI noted that Bartkus held “nihilistic ideations” and viewed the clinic as a symbol of what he described in his writings as ‘pro-life hypocrisy.’ A search of his residence in Twentynine Palms uncovered additional digital evidence, as well as materials related to the planning and construction of the explosive device.
The suspect’s manifesto is described by authorities as violently anti-pro-life, rejecting both pro-life and pro-parenthood values.
Investigators believe he planned to livestream the explosion but the attempt was either unsuccessful or disrupted.
Bartkus acted alone, and authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the community.
While the Left has long attempted to portray pro-lifers as the face of political violence, this incident shows how far radical anti-life extremists are willing to go. A growing segment of modern activists sees even the desire to start a family as a form of oppression and they’re willing to use terror to fight it.
“This was a targeted, premeditated act of violence,” said FBI Assistant Director Akil Davis. “The suspect took aim at innocent civilians under the guise of ideological grievance. That is terrorism, plain and simple.”
As radical ideologies continue to radicalize young men like Bartkus, this should be a wake-up call to lawmakers and communities: political violence doesn’t come from just one side. And ignoring it when it targets conservative or pro-life institutions won’t make it go away.
