FBI Insists Trump Rally Shooter Acted Alone Despite Growing Public Skepticism
Officials claim they’ve pulled every thread, but serious questions remain unanswered in Crooks investigation.

Despite a growing number of Americans voicing serious doubts online, the FBI is now doubling down on its conclusion that Thomas Crooks acted entirely alone in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a 2024 rally.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino and Director Kash Patel briefed Fox News on the agency’s findings, emphasizing their confidence that no one helped, inspired, or coordinated with Crooks. The FBI claims it has conducted over 1,000 interviews, executed more than 10 search warrants, issued 100 subpoenas, and analyzed 13 devices linked to Crooks and his family. Yet despite the scale of the investigation, many are still asking the one question the FBI refuses to take seriously: Why should we trust them?
Here’s what the FBI claims:
Every electronic device and online account associated with Crooks including foreign accounts in Belgium and Germany was accessed and examined
There was “no encryption” the FBI couldn’t bypass, contrary to early reporting
Crooks left no manifesto, no suicide note, and no known collaborators
The suspect’s house was “completely swept,” and all devices fully analyzed
There was zero foreign involvement or domestic conspiracy, according to their findings
The FBI even went as far as naming a controversial Norwegian extremist who once replied to Crooks’ public YouTube comment. They stress there was no actual communication or coordination between the two men.
But here's the problem: Americans no longer trust institutions like the FBI to tell the truth especially when the truth threatens to expose their failures. After years of political interference, targeted investigations, and one double standard after another, the public has every reason to be suspicious.
Let’s not forget:
The FBI’s own credibility has been badly damaged after its abuse of the FISA process during the Russia hoax and its refusal to act on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 election
According to a 2023 Gallup poll, only 37% of Americans have a “great deal” or “fair amount” of trust in the FBI, down significantly from prior decades
Whistleblowers inside the bureau have accused leadership of suppressing evidence and politicizing investigations especially ones involving President Trump
And yet, we’re expected to take their word for it now?
Even more troubling, Bongino and Patel pushed back hard against online skepticism, claiming conspiracy theories are just cash grabs for social media clout. But when trust is broken, people start asking questions and rightly so. This isn’t about making money; it’s about accountability for a near-successful assassination attempt on the leading presidential candidate.
Bongino tried to make it personal, asking what possible motivation he or Patel both close to President Trump would have to hide the truth. But that’s not the point. The issue isn’t whether they want to cover something up the issue is whether they’re capable of seeing what they don’t want to see. Or worse, whether the deeper rot inside the FBI system simply refuses to expose itself, no matter who’s in charge.
And while Patel claims Congress has been “fully debriefed,” there are already lawmakers demanding more transparency and warning of gaps in what’s been turned over. “There isn’t some trove of documents we haven’t sent,” Patel insists. Maybe not. But then again, it wouldn’t be the first time the FBI withheld the truth under the guise of “victim protections” or national security.
The American people deserve full transparency not carefully curated press briefings and vague reassurances that “we got everything.” This was an attack on a former and potentially future president. Nothing short of total disclosure will be enough.
