Israeli Embassy Staff Slayings Declared ‘Act of Terror’ by FBI Director

Keffiyeh-clad gunman with far-left ties targeted Jewish embassy staff in what federal authorities now confirm was a hate-driven terror attack.

The FBI has officially labeled the execution-style murder of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, D.C., as an act of terror, confirming what many already knew: this was a targeted anti-Semitic hate crime fueled by extremist ideology.

Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and Sarah Milgram, 26 a couple preparing for engagement were gunned down outside the Capital Jewish Museum during a diplomatic event on Wednesday night. The shooter, Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, was captured immediately after the attack while shouting “Free Palestine” and wearing a keffiyeh, a symbol frequently associated with anti-Israel activism.

FBI Director Kash Patel wasted no time in calling the atrocity what it is terrorism.

“Last night’s act of terror has the full attention of the FBI,” Patel posted to X. “Targeted anti-Semitic violence is an attack on our core values and will be met with the full weight of federal law enforcement.”

Rodriguez’s background adds layers of concern. He was previously associated with the far-left Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) a group known for its militant anti-Israel rhetoric and worked for the American Osteopathic Information Association. While PSL attempted to distance itself after the murders, the ideological overlap is hard to ignore.

Federal agents raided Rodriguez’s Chicago apartment Thursday morning. While details on what was recovered remain undisclosed, investigators are now examining a 900-page manifesto allegedly written by the suspect. In it, the writer reportedly rants about Israel’s war against Hamas, calling it a “genocide” and arguing that “the perpetrators and abettors have forfeited their humanity.”

“The FBI is aware of certain writings allegedly authored by the suspect,” said Deputy Director Dan Bongino. “We hope to have updates on the authenticity very soon.”

Key developments:

  • FBI officially classifies the attack as terrorism, citing religious and political motivations.

  • Suspect reportedly authored a manifesto echoing far-left narratives demonizing Israel.

  • No ongoing public threat, but federal law enforcement is continuing to pursue all leads.

This horrific act follows a disturbing rise in open hostility toward Jews and the Jewish state hostility not only tolerated but encouraged by the modern American Left, where “from the river to the sea” chants and pro-Hamas demonstrations are now daily occurrences on college campuses and in major cities.

Rodriguez is part of a dangerous trend: radicalized individuals emboldened by political movements that downplay or excuse anti-Semitism, as long as it’s couched in the language of “resistance.” The blood of innocent lives now stains that rhetoric.

Lischinsky and Milgram were more than diplomats. They were young, committed public servants, working to build bridges between nations and promote peace. Instead, they were hunted in cold blood not for who they were as people, but for what they represented: the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

This act wasn’t just a hate crime. It was a terrorist attack on American soil against allied diplomats and the implications are chilling.

The Biden administration’s silence has been deafening. Not a single statement from progressive leaders. Not one word from those who pretend to champion tolerance while their political base normalizes antisemitism in broad daylight.

Director Patel’s swift and forceful declaration is a welcome sign that some in our government still understand what’s at stake. But true justice will require more than a press release. It demands an ideological reckoning with the poisonous narratives that radicalized this killer in the first place.
