FBI Verifies Trump Hit by Bullet
Assassination Attempt Leaves Former President With Minor Injury.
The FBI has confirmed that former President Donald Trump was indeed struck by a bullet in an assassination attempt two weeks ago. This revelation comes after days of speculation and controversy surrounding the incident.
FBI Director Christopher Wray previously suggested uncertainty about whether Trump was hit by a bullet or shrapnel, but the Bureau's official statement clarified that it was a bullet.
Forensic experts and video analysis by The New York Times confirmed the trajectory and impact of the bullet on Trump's ear.
The attack occurred at a rally in Pennsylvania, where the shooter had a clear line of sight to Trump.
“What struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet, whether whole or fragmented into smaller pieces, fired from the deceased subject’s rifle,” the FBI stated.
This statement follows Director Wray's earlier, controversial comments to the House Judiciary Committee, where he implied doubt about what hit Trump. "There was some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear," Wray said.
A detailed analysis by The New York Times, including video and trajectory assessments, confirmed that Trump was hit by a bullet. Rob Maher, an audio forensics expert at Montana State University, pointed out that Trump’s immediate reaction to the sound of the shot, including reaching for his ear, indicated he was struck by a bullet. Photographs from the scene showed blood on Trump’s hand after he touched his ear.
The investigation revealed that the 20-year-old would-be assassin had an unobstructed view and clear line of fire at Trump during the rally.
This assassination attempt has heightened security concerns as Trump campaigns for the 2024 presidential election. The incident underscores the persistent threats faced by political figures and the importance of rigorous security measures.
