FBI Arrests Gunman in ABC News Station Shooting After Finding Chilling Notes

Shooter referenced Epstein, conservative leaders, and a cryptic warning to “do the next scary thing” in disturbing manifesto.

Federal authorities have arrested Anibal Hernandez Santana, the 63-year-old man accused of opening fire on Sacramento's ABC10 news station, and what they uncovered during the investigation is nothing short of chilling.

Though no one was injured in the brazen Friday afternoon attack, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Monday that Santana is now in federal custody and facing multiple serious charges, including:

  • Possessing and discharging a firearm within a school zone

  • Interfering with a federally licensed broadcaster

  • Targeted violence against a media institution

After Santana was initially released on $200,000 bail by local officials over the weekend despite shooting into a building full of employees the FBI stepped in and placed him under a federal hold.

“The FBI will pursue targeted acts of violence to the fullest extent of the law,” Director Patel posted on X. “This was unacceptable.”

But the most disturbing revelations came from what investigators found at Santana’s home.

During a search of his residence, law enforcement discovered:

  • A handwritten note reading: “For hiding Epstein & ignoring red flags. Do not support Patel, Bongino, & AG Pam Bondi. They’re next. – C.K. from above.”

  • A weekly planner pinned to his refrigerator with a chilling entry for Friday: “Do the Next Scary Thing.”

It’s now clear that this was not a random act of violence it was part of what appears to be a politically motivated hit list.

Santana's message explicitly named former Trump advisor Kash Patel, conservative commentator Dan Bongino, and former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi all frequent targets of the far-Left and enemies of the corrupt establishment narrative.

What’s really going on here?

  • The shooting happened one day after a protest outside ABC10, sparked by ABC’s decision to pull Jimmy Kimmel off-air for mocking Charlie Kirk’s assassination a move that outraged both conservatives and independent media.

  • Though Disney owns the ABC network, ABC10 is a local affiliate owned by Tegna, soon to be acquired by Nexstar meaning the shooter likely misunderstood who he was attacking.

  • The shooter reportedly fired multiple rounds from a vehicle into the station’s front lobby before fleeing the scene. Bullet holes were captured in footage shared by local reporters.

Law enforcement now confirms that extra patrols are being placed near ABC7 San Francisco and other media offices as a precaution.

Meanwhile, Disney announced Monday that Kimmel's show would return, despite his disgusting comments about Kirk once again choosing media elites over the families of real victims.

This isn’t just another random crime. This is part of a disturbing trend of politically charged violence tied to increasing instability, hatred, and radicalization much of it fueled by the very media complex that now pretends to be shocked.

And let’s not ignore the irony: the same institutions that deplatform conservatives in the name of “safety” and “misinformation” were just shot at by a man quoting their own conspiracy-laced narratives.

If convicted, Santana faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for discharging a firearm in a school zone, and additional time for interfering with a broadcast signal.

The question now is whether this act of violence will be seriously prosecuted, or quietly swept under the rug because of who was targeted.

Because if this had been a conservative who shot up a newsroom and left notes threatening CNN or MSNBC personalities, the media would be in full-blown meltdown mode.

Instead? Silence and a quick return to “normal.”
