Judge Blocks DOJ From Using Evidence Tied to Comey Ally

Another setback for Biden’s DOJ as legal protections shield key figure in FBI’s anti-Trump legacy.

In yet another legal blow to the Department of Justice, a federal judge has temporarily barred prosecutors from using key evidence tied to Daniel Richman, a longtime ally of former FBI Director James Comey. The ruling complicates the DOJ's ongoing effort to revive its stalled case against Comey, a central figure in the FBI's highly politicized actions during the Trump presidency.

U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly granted a temporary restraining order preventing the DOJ from accessing materials seized from Richman’s electronic devices. The judge acknowledged Richman is “likely to succeed” in his Fourth Amendment claims, which could mean the government unlawfully searched and retained his personal data without a warrant.

This decision doesn't just delay proceedings it may kneecap the DOJ’s second attempt to prosecute Comey after its first case was tossed due to the illegal appointment of lead prosecutor Lindsey Halligan. Once again, bureaucratic overreach and mismanagement inside Biden's DOJ are shielding the very people involved in what many conservatives see as the FBI’s partisan warfare against Donald Trump.

Key highlights from the case:

  • Richman was a former FBI special employee and acted as Comey’s conduit to leak sensitive FBI information to the press in 2017.

  • The DOJ reportedly relied on Richman’s files to support indictments accusing Comey of lying to Congress and obstructing their investigation into FBI media leaks.

  • The ruling prohibits the DOJ from touching any of the materials until at least December 12, unless the court issues further instructions.

Let’s not forget, Richman played a major role in leaking classified information at Comey’s request specifically, the memos Comey used to trigger the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. This isn’t just about technicalities; it’s about the deep state shielding its own.

While the Biden administration's DOJ obsesses over prosecuting its political rivals, it continues to trip over the Constitution when it comes to its own allies. Meanwhile, crime continues to surge, the border remains open, and faith in our institutions is crumbling. And yet, here we are watching the DOJ get smacked down for targeting political enemies while protecting the architects of a sham Russia hoax that paralyzed a presidency.

For added perspective:

  • The public trust in the FBI has plummeted, with only 37% of Americans expressing a positive view according to a 2023 Pew survey.

  • In 2020 alone, the DOJ admitted to at least 29 FISA warrant errors, some directly tied to investigations initiated under Comey’s leadership.

  • The botched handling of the Clinton investigation and subsequent targeting of Trump were cited by multiple whistleblowers as evidence of partisan bias.

This latest judicial ruling might be a small procedural matter on paper but in the bigger picture, it's another reminder of how entrenched corruption and selective justice have become business as usual under Democrat rule.

If you're tired of the double standards and government insiders dodging accountability, make sure to share this with someone who still thinks Comey was just doing his job.
