DeSantis Attacks Harris' Presidential Run, Alleges Complicity in Major Coverup

Florida Governor accuses Harris of complicity and failure as border czar.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis did not hold back his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris as she launched her presidential campaign this week, following President Joe Biden’s announcement that he was ending his reelection bid. DeSantis accused Harris of being "complicit in a massive coverup" to hide Biden’s incapacity to fulfill his presidential duties.

“Kamala Harris was complicit in a massive coverup to hide and deny the fact that Joe Biden was not capable of discharging the duties of the office,” DeSantis wrote in a post on X. “She also was the the border czar during the worst border crisis in American history. Democrats are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.”

Biden, 81, announced on Sunday that he was ending his campaign, citing it was in the best interest of his party. This decision came as his campaign struggled against former President Donald Trump in the polls.

“After pushing Biden out, it was predictable that corporate media would provide hundreds of millions of dollars worth of glowing coverage to his replacement,” DeSantis added. “They are trying to do that with Kamala but it won’t work — she is too vacuous, too liberal and too unaccomplished for the voters to buy the manufactured narrative.”

In a concerning moment, Biden called into Harris’ campaign launch on Monday, slurring his words as he assured that he planned to campaign for her, despite widespread calls from Republicans for him to resign due to his severe cognitive decline.

  • DeSantis highlighted Harris’s role as the border czar during what he described as the worst border crisis in American history, criticizing her for her lack of accomplishments and liberal policies.

  • He also suggested that media efforts to boost Harris’s image would fail, describing her as "too vacuous, too liberal and too unaccomplished" for voters to support.

Republicans have been vocal about their demands for Biden’s resignation, arguing that his cognitive decline significantly impacted his poll numbers, especially after his recent debate against Trump.

As the political landscape shifts with Harris stepping into the spotlight, DeSantis’s pointed remarks set the stage for a contentious election season.
