DeSantis Exposes Fraudulent Petitions Behind Radical Abortion Amendment
Florida governor launches investigation into forged signatures pushing Amendment 4.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is taking action against fraudulent efforts to put a dangerous abortion amendment on the state’s ballot. During a press conference on Monday, DeSantis revealed that law enforcement is investigating after receiving numerous complaints about fake petitions used to support Amendment 4, a proposal that the governor warns could jeopardize women’s health and safety.
Amendment 4, which DeSantis has labeled as extreme, prompted the state to deploy resources to alert voters about the risks. The petition process, intended to garner public support for putting the measure on the ballot, has been rife with irregularities.
Investigators have discovered dozens of petitions submitted on behalf of deceased individuals.
Signatures have been validated that do not match the voter file, signaling clear fraud.
Law enforcement is visiting thousands of homes across Florida to verify if voters actually signed the petitions.
“We are not going to put up with election-related fraud in Florida,” DeSantis said. He assured the public that any fraudulent activity would be pursued aggressively by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). The governor emphasized that holding wrongdoers accountable is essential to maintaining public trust in the electoral process.
Despite critics claiming that law enforcement’s actions amount to “intimidation,” DeSantis stood firm, stating that investigating fraudulent activity is about protecting the rights of law-abiding citizens. “If someone’s committing fraud, that undermines your rights,” he said, highlighting that fraud prevention is critical to ensuring fair elections.
Amendment 4’s backers are facing serious allegations, and DeSantis made it clear that Florida will not tolerate fraudulent efforts to sway public opinion on such a critical issue.
