In a Thursday press conference, DeSantis announced that he had authorized the deployment of state troops to ports affected by ongoing dock worker strikes, ensuring that they remain operational during this critical time.

• Toll collections and size and weight restrictions for commercial vehicles will be waived, expediting the transportation of goods and offsetting costs for companies shipping supplies.

• The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) will manage traffic from seaports and provide law enforcement escorts for commercial vehicles carrying essential goods.

While dock worker strikes risk halting the flow of critical supplies to disaster zones, Biden and Harris have failed to intervene, leaving it up to state governments to find solutions. "To have this happen in a way that could negatively impact people reeling from a Category 4 Hurricane, that is simply unacceptable," DeSantis said.
