DEA Colorado Raids, Arrests Dozens of Illegal Aliens and Tren de Aragua Members
Trump administration intensifies efforts to dismantle Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua criminal network.
Federal agents carried out a major raid in Aurora, Colorado, capturing nearly 50 illegal alien members and associates of Venezuela’s notorious Tren de Aragua gang. The operation, conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) alongside local law enforcement, targeted a makeshift nightclub that served as a hub for the gang’s illegal activities.
The DEA’s Rocky Mountain division confirmed the bust, which included the seizure of drugs, weapons, and cash. Among the contraband was Tusi, or "pink cocaine," a synthetic drug trafficked by the gang across the United States.
“An early AM operation targeting drug trafficking and members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua (TdA) took place in Adams County,” the DEA said in a statement on X. “Drugs, weapons, and cash were seized. Nearly 50 illegal aliens were taken into custody.”
Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan criminal organization, has rapidly expanded its footprint in the U.S., with operations spanning 16 states. The gang is notorious for violent crimes, including murder, drug and sex trafficking, attacks on law enforcement, and the seizure of residential properties to use as operational headquarters.
The Aurora raid highlights the gang's reach and the dangers posed by unchecked illegal immigration. The DEA described the gathering as an “invite-only” event, underscoring its clandestine nature. A video posted by the agency showed a bus transporting those arrested, offering a glimpse of the scale of the operation.
This raid is one of the first major enforcement actions in President Donald Trump’s return to office. During his campaign, Trump pledged to crack down on illegal immigration and criminal organizations that have flourished under weak Democratic policies. The Aurora bust signals a renewed commitment to restoring law and order.
DEA acting administrator Derek Maltz reinforced this urgency, stating, “We want the country to know that we will all support the president’s priority to round up the most dangerous illegal criminals. The citizens of this country must feel safe every day throughout the country. One of my goals is to help build an army of good to fight evil.”
The Trump administration’s emphasis on collaboration between federal and local agencies is already yielding results, as demonstrated by this high-profile operation.
Tren de Aragua’s activities are emblematic of the risks posed by unsecured borders. Under the Biden administration, these criminal networks expanded their operations, taking advantage of lax immigration policies. The gang’s presence in multiple states underscores the urgent need for coordinated enforcement efforts to protect American communities.
The Aurora raid is a clear message: the U.S. will not allow violent criminals to exploit the nation’s vulnerabilities. The Trump administration’s focus on prioritizing public safety is already making an impact, ensuring that dangerous actors face justice.
