Dana White Joins Meta Board as Zuckerberg Shifts Right

The UFC CEO and longtime Trump ally is set to shake up Silicon Valley.

In a move that signals a potential shift in Big Tech leadership, UFC CEO Dana White has been named to Meta’s board of directors. The decision, announced by Mark Zuckerberg, follows Trump’s 2024 victory and comes amid Meta’s ongoing restructuring, which has included appointing Republican Joel Kaplan to replace leftist Nick Clegg as president of global affairs.

White, a longtime Trump supporter and business mogul, is set to bring his no-nonsense, high-energy leadership style to one of the most powerful tech companies in the world.

“I’ve never been interested in joining a board of directors until I got the offer to join Meta’s board,” White said. “I am a huge believer that social media and AI are the future. … There is nothing I love more than building brands, and I look forward to helping take Meta to the next level.”

Zuckerberg praised White’s entrepreneurial success, noting that he turned UFC into one of the most valuable and fastest-growing sports enterprises in history.

“I’ve admired him as an entrepreneur and his ability to build such a beloved brand,” Zuckerberg said.

White’s addition to Meta’s board is a major shake-up for a company that has long leaned left, especially considering his close ties to President Donald Trump.

Trump has publicly praised White for years and even chose him to nominate him for president at the Republican National Convention. White has never shied away from his admiration for Trump, calling him “the toughest, most resilient human being” he’s ever met.

“The mainstream media likes to push the narrative that he doesn’t care about anyone but himself,” White said of Trump. “I absolutely know that’s not the truth because I’ve been friends with this guy for 25 years.”

White added that Trump is running in 2024 “to save our American dream”, emphasizing that he himself has lived the American dream and knows its reality.

With White joining the board and Kaplan taking over global affairs, it’s clear that Meta is shifting in a more balanced or even conservative-friendly direction. Under previous leadership, the company has been accused of suppressing conservative voices and censoring stories unfavorable to the Left.

But with White’s influence, Meta could start embracing free speech, protecting online discourse, and focusing on business growth instead of woke politics.

One thing is certain: Dana White isn’t the type to back down from a fight.
