Dana Bash Mocks Kamala Harris for Repetitive Talking Points

CNN Anchor Says Harris’ Small Business Rhetoric Could Inspire a ‘Drinking Game'.

Even CNN’s Dana Bash is losing patience with Vice President Kamala Harris. During a panel discussion on Wednesday, Bash openly mocked Harris for her repetitive talking points, suggesting that they could easily form the basis of a "drinking game."

Referring to Harris’ overuse of the term “small business” while promoting her so-called “opportunity economy,” Bash quipped, “When you listen to Kamala Harris and what she will do, you can almost start a drinking game every time she says ‘small businesses.’” Bash went on to play a clip of Harris, who used the phrase twice in under 20 seconds, driving home the point that Harris’ message lacks originality and depth.

It’s no secret that Harris, now the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, has struggled to connect with voters through clear and compelling policy explanations. Her reliance on a handful of buzzwords like “small businesses” and “middle-class kid” has become a recurring joke. Even CNN’s liberal-leaning panel couldn’t ignore the emptiness of Harris' rhetoric.

Dave Weigel from Semafor weighed in, noting that Harris often leads her responses with platitudes like “middle-class kid” while failing to provide real answers to pressing concerns such as rising prices. “What people want to hear is how do you make the prices go down,” Weigel said, pointing out that Harris “doesn’t have an answer” for inflation or the economic woes facing Americans.

Harris’ lack of substance is a glaring issue. Voters are desperate for solutions to inflation, skyrocketing energy costs, and rising prices at the grocery store not empty slogans or vague promises about the “opportunity economy.” Contrast that with Donald Trump, whose plans to decrease demand through mass deportations and explore domestic energy production offer specific, if controversial, solutions.

While Democrats claim inflation is improving, the reality is that millions of Americans still struggle under the Biden-Harris administration’s economic failures. Yet instead of addressing these challenges head-on, Harris continues to recycle the same talking points, banking on repetition rather than substance.

As 2024 draws nearer, voters are paying closer attention, and it’s becoming increasingly clear that Harris’ message however often it’s repeated isn’t resonating. The Biden-Harris ticket is still without real answers on how to solve the economic problems plaguing the country.
