Dan Crenshaw Calls On Europe To Get ‘Uncomfortably Aggressive’ Against Russia

The Texas congressman urges European nations to step up instead of relying on America.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) is sending a strong message to Europe: If you want to win against Russia, stop waiting for America to do the heavy lifting. During a Sunday interview on Face the Nation, Crenshaw laid out exactly what needs to happen to force Vladimir Putin to the negotiating table and bring the war in Ukraine to an end.

Crenshaw made it clear that the Trump administration’s goal is lasting peace, but that won’t happen unless European nations step up in a big way. He pointed out that Europe has been too passive and must become “uncomfortably aggressive” toward Russia.

  • Europe needs to increase defense spending instead of relying on U.S. military aid.

  • European nations should consider deploying their own peacekeeping forces instead of expecting America to handle it.

  • Threats to Putin must be real and carry weight because, as Crenshaw put it, “the only language Putin speaks is power.”

For too long, European nations have hidden behind America’s military strength while failing to take responsibility for their own security. Crenshaw argued that instead of waiting for the U.S. to take the lead, Europe should be pushing so aggressively that America has to hold them back a complete reversal of the current dynamic.

This echoes what President Donald Trump has been saying for years: NATO members must take their own defense seriously. Trump previously pushed European nations to increase their defense spending by $700 billion, but Crenshaw suggests it’s still not enough.

The strategy is simple: If Europe wants peace, it needs to act like it actually wants to win. Instead of playing defense, NATO allies should be pressuring Russia with real consequences militarily and economically. Crenshaw’s approach would completely change the power dynamic, forcing Putin to rethink his war strategy.

While Biden has allowed Europe to continue freeloading, Trump and his allies like Crenshaw are demanding accountability. America will always be a powerful force on the world stage, but it’s time for Europe to prove it’s willing to fight for its own survival.
