Squad Member Claims to Have Miraculously Healed Woman's Tumors

Rep. Cori Bush Claims Divine Power in Her 2022 Book

Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), a prominent member of the far-left "Squad," claimed in her 2022 book that she once performed a miracle, healing a woman with tumors through prayer. Bush, who defeated incumbent Rep. William “Lacy” Clay in 2020, made this assertion in her book, “The Forerunner: A Story of Pain and Perseverance in America.” The claim recently gained attention after a piece by The New York Post’s Jonathan Levine highlighted it.

"As I learned how to apply God’s Word to my life in new ways, I better understood the power that was already residing in me," Bush wrote. "It was there, waiting for me to acknowledge it, to use it. I had the confidence to heal others with God’s power."

Bush recounted an encounter with a woman who had several visible tumors on her torso and was scheduled for surgery but lacked health insurance and was living in a park. "One of the tumors was particularly painful to her. I laid hands on her and prayed, and I felt that my hand was no longer touching a tumor. It shrank along with the others on her body," Bush claimed.

Additionally, Bush recounted another incident where she claimed to have healed a toddler who couldn't walk due to a brain bleed shortly after birth. "I carried the child from the prayer room in the back of the church out into the sanctuary ... 'Walk,' I said gently to the three-year-old girl, 'you will walk.' And this girl took her first step. Then another, and another. She walked," Bush wrote. The child's grandmother reportedly witnessed this and reacted with amazement and gratitude.

Despite these dramatic claims, they went largely unnoticed during her book tour. However, PBS' Margaret Hoover did bring them up in an interview.

Moreover, the pastor of Bush's church asserted that he healed the Congresswoman of COVID-19 in 2021 by praying for her over the phone.

Bush’s declarations have sparked both intrigue and skepticism, illustrating the controversial and often polarizing nature of public figures who intertwine faith with politics.
