CNN Tries to Blame ICE for Tragedy but Guest Refuses to Play Along
Even amid personal tragedy, one man chose truth over CNN’s political narrative.

CNN’s Erin Burnett tried her best to steer the narrative against ICE but the man she interviewed wasn’t buying it.
During a recent segment on Erin Burnett Out Front, the host invited Timmy Macklin, the former father-in-law of Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent after ramming him with her vehicle. Burnett appeared to be fishing for a condemnation of the agent, but Macklin showed remarkable clarity and grace refusing to cast blame where it didn’t belong.
Instead of delivering the outrage CNN might have hoped for, Macklin gave a sobering and spiritual perspective on a tragic situation:
He acknowledged the difficulty of the moment and the split-second nature of the ICE agent’s decision, saying: “In a flash like that, it’s hard to say how you would react.”
He pointed out that the ICE agent had previously been dragged down a road during an encounter, offering context that the mainstream media has conveniently glossed over.
Rather than vilifying the agent, Macklin stated simply and powerfully: “I don’t blame ICE, I don’t blame Rebecca, I don’t blame Renee.”
In a time when the left-wing press is eager to portray federal law enforcement especially immigration agents as villains, Macklin’s words stood in stark contrast to the usual media script. He didn’t deliver emotional outrage or activist buzzwords. He delivered perspective, grounded in faith and accountability, not political theater.
Burnett’s interview highlights just how out of touch mainstream media outlets like CNN have become. They push anti-ICE narratives at every turn, even in situations where officers are physically attacked or endangered. When their guests don’t toe the line, the media’s framing begins to unravel.
Here are a few things CNN won’t highlight:
ICE agents operate under increasingly dangerous conditions. According to DHS reports, attacks on ICE personnel have increased over 30% in recent years, often during routine enforcement actions.
The Department of Justice reportedly declined to investigate the ICE agent’s actions, indicating that the use of force was deemed within protocol.
Despite repeated provocation, ICE continues to uphold U.S. immigration law under impossible political pressure from the left.
At the end of the day, Macklin reminded viewers of something we rarely hear from corporate news outlets: that responsibility is not a one-way street. That violence has consequences. And that moral clarity, even in grief, is still possible.
CNN may have tried to turn this story into another indictment of ICE. But thanks to one man’s integrity, the truth still came through.
