Bill Clinton Blames Biden-Harris Admin for Laken Riley’s Death Due to Border Crisis
Clinton acknowledges failures in immigration vetting, while facts contradict his attempt to blame Trump.
Former President Bill Clinton made headlines this week when he openly criticized the Biden-Harris administration for its failure to secure the southern border, which he claims led to the tragic murder of Laken Riley, a 26-year-old nursing student from Georgia. Riley was killed by a criminal illegal alien who entered the U.S. under the current administration, highlighting the dangers of lax immigration policies.
Speaking at a campaign event in Georgia for Vice President Kamala Harris, Clinton emphasized that a lack of proper vetting at the border has resulted in the deaths of innocent Americans like Riley. “You had a case in Georgia not very long ago, didn’t you?” Clinton asked the crowd. “They made an ad about it, a young woman who had been killed by an immigrant. Yeah, well, if they’d all been properly vetted that probably wouldn’t have happened.”
Clinton criticized the Biden-Harris administration, claiming their failure to properly vet immigrants led to Riley’s murder.
Attempts to blame Trump for halting border security reforms were quickly debunked, as the timeline of the bill and Riley’s death did not align.
The National Border Patrol Council has strongly endorsed Donald Trump for president, citing his firm stance on securing the border.
While Clinton acknowledged the crisis at the border, he also attempted to shift some of the blame onto former President Donald Trump, falsely suggesting that Trump blocked a border bill earlier this year. However, this claim falls apart under scrutiny. The bill, which was already facing resistance for being too lenient, never reached a vote due to bipartisan concerns over its inadequacy. Additionally, Riley was tragically murdered before the bill even came up for discussion, rendering Clinton’s attempt to pin the blame on Trump inaccurate.
Clinton’s comments come amid growing dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s handling of the border crisis. With record numbers of illegal crossings and a surge in violent crimes committed by individuals who have slipped through the cracks of a broken immigration system, the stakes are high. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has also been sitting on a Republican-supported House bill for nearly two years that would enhance border security, but he has refused to bring it to a vote.
In contrast, Donald Trump has maintained a strong stance on border security, leading to his recent endorsement by the National Border Patrol Council. The council, which represents 16,000 men and women on the front lines, praised Trump’s leadership in securing the border and endorsed his 2024 presidential bid. "We strongly support and endorse Donald J. Trump for President of the United States," the organization declared, signaling that under a Trump administration, the chaotic border situation could finally be addressed.
Clinton’s acknowledgment of the Biden administration’s failure to vet immigrants is a rare admission from a prominent Democrat, but the attempt to shift blame for the crisis falls flat. As the 2024 election approaches, immigration is set to remain one of the most critical issues on the national stage, with Americans demanding stronger action to prevent further tragedies like the death of Laken Riley.
