CIA Security Shoots Woman After Gate Breach at Langley Headquarters
27-year-old woman wounded after ramming checkpoint just hours after anti-Israel terror attack in Washington.

A woman was shot and wounded by security personnel at CIA Headquarters early Thursday morning after she reportedly refused to stop at the facility’s main gate in McLean, Virginia. The incident comes on the heels of a deadly terrorist attack in Washington, D.C., that left two Israeli embassy staffers murdered by a pro-Palestinian gunman a convergence of events that has put federal law enforcement on high alert.
The woman, identified as 27-year-old Monia Spadaro, was transported to the hospital with a non-fatal gunshot wound to the upper body, according to CBS and NBC News. Officials confirmed she was previously convicted of driving under the influence in 2021, but have yet to release any motive for Thursday’s incident.
“There was a security incident that law enforcement responded to outside CIA Headquarters,” said a CIA spokesperson. “The main gate is currently closed, employees should seek alternative routes.”
Authorities say Spadaro approached the CIA’s main entrance at approximately 4:00 a.m. ET, ignored orders to stop, and was subsequently shot by on-site security after she failed to comply. Fairfax County Police assisted with traffic control and lockdown procedures.
Key details from the incident:
The shooting took place just over 12 miles from the Capital Jewish Museum, where two Israeli diplomats were murdered just hours earlier.
Authorities say there is currently no known connection between the two events.
The CIA main gate was temporarily closed, and employees were told to use alternate routes.
This incident marks the second time in recent months that CIA facilities have come under threat. In March, a man named Robert Scofield was arrested after firing shots near the CIA’s entrance in a tense standoff that lasted several hours. Scofield, a convicted felon, eventually surrendered after threatening to shoot himself.
In today’s climate of rising global tensions and domestic instability, attacks and breaches at federal and diplomatic sites are becoming disturbingly common. And while law enforcement says this latest shooting does not appear to be terrorism-related, the timing has naturally raised concerns.
This week alone:
Two Israeli government staffers were murdered in a targeted attack in the nation’s capital.
A pro-Hamas gunman yelled “Free Palestine” as he opened fire outside a Jewish museum.
A woman with a history of criminal behavior attempted to breach one of America’s most secure facilities.
Coincidence or not, the broader trend is impossible to ignore. The country is on edge, and our institutions from diplomatic missions to national security hubs are becoming flashpoints in a culture war spilling over into violent confrontation.
No matter the motive, any breach at the CIA is a serious national security event. With federal facilities and Jewish organizations increasingly being targeted, Americans deserve answers and accountability not bureaucratic deflections.
