Chris Martin’s Kiss Cam Joke at Coldplay Concert Sparks Affair Speculation
A playful moment at Gillette Stadium turns viral as fans speculate about a CEO and colleague caught on camera.

What started as a lighthearted moment during a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts has spiraled into a viral controversy after frontman Chris Martin joked about a couple featured on the Kiss Cam a comment that’s now fueling online affair rumors.
During Wednesday’s performance at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Chris Martin performed an improvised version of “The Jumbotron Song,” singing about couples appearing on the big screen. When one man and woman appeared particularly uncomfortable under the spotlight, Martin couldn’t resist making a playful remark.
“Whoa, look at these two,” Martin said with a grin, as the camera zoomed in. Almost immediately, the blonde woman turned away while the man ducked out of frame, prompting Martin to quip, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” drawing laughter from the crowd.
Within hours, social media sleuths claimed the pair on screen were Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company’s Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. Astronomer, a New York-based tech firm, has not commented publicly on the rumors. Reps for Byron and Cabot did not respond to media inquiries, and no evidence beyond the Kiss Cam moment suggests anything beyond a professional relationship.
Still, the internet was quick to run with the narrative. Byron’s LinkedIn page became the target of cheeky comments, with users referencing Coldplay hits:
“Coldplay setlist update: A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You, The CEO of Astronomer getting caught cheating with an employee in section 102.”
“Caught on the Jumbotron,” one user joked, while another wrote, “Where is the head of HR?”
“Your wife, her husband,” another remarked, complete with a surprised face emoji.
The couple’s reaction a mix of avoidance and discomfort only added fuel to the speculation. While Martin’s joke was clearly meant in jest, the clip has gone viral, with fans dissecting every frame on TikTok, Reddit threads, and Twitter.
For now, neither Byron nor Cabot has issued a statement, and Astronomer has remained silent as the story snowballs online. Coldplay, for its part, has made no further comment beyond Martin’s playful on-stage improvisation.
Whether this was simply an innocent case of camera-shyness or something more, the viral moment is a reminder of how quickly a joke at a live event can morph into widespread speculation in the social media era.
