Bondi Under Fire After DOJ Shuts Down Epstein Client List Claims

Trump’s AG faces backlash as DOJ says Epstein review is over and no list of elite predators exists.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing a wave of criticism after the Department of Justice abruptly closed its Epstein investigation this weekend claiming no “client list” exists and slamming the door on years of speculation about elite predators tied to the disgraced financier.

Bondi, a Trump ally and vocal advocate for exposing Epstein’s network, had previously teased the existence of a nonpublic client list, even telling Fox News in February, “It’s sitting on my desk right now to review.” That comment, which came during an interview with John Roberts, was followed by a high-profile media rollout and binders labeled “Epstein Files: Phase 1” handed to influencers during a White House visit.

But the newly released DOJ memo poured cold water on everything. “This systematic review revealed no incriminating ‘client list,’” the memo stated flatly. It also reaffirmed the agency's long-standing claim that Epstein committed suicide and that no new criminal charges or revelations are forthcoming.

The backlash was immediate.

  • Liz Wheeler called for Bondi to be fired: “I’m supposed to be on vacation, but it’s time to fire Pam Bondi.”

  • Mike Cernovich said, “Everyone is pissed,” and questioned why the memo was released at all.

  • Rogan O’Handley labeled it a “shameful chapter in our country’s history.”

Even Fox’s Peter Doocy pressed the White House on the disconnect between Bondi’s claims and the DOJ’s new stance. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attempted damage control: “She was saying the entirety of all of the paperwork… that’s what the attorney general was referring to.”

Adding to the confusion, Bondi has repeatedly claimed since May that “tens of thousands of videos” exist showing Epstein engaging in crimes. But the DOJ memo contradicted that too, stating the files contained 10,000 images and videos, with only some categorized as illegal child sex abuse material not the vast trove Bondi had described.

This controversy cuts to the core of public distrust in federal institutions. The Epstein case has long been symbolic of how the elite protect their own, and Bondi’s failure to deliver on explosive promises has only deepened that suspicion.

Let’s not forget:

  • Epstein was connected to politicians, billionaires, royalty, and celebrities.

  • The prison cameras “malfunctioned” the night he died.

  • The FBI has still failed to fully account for the scope of his network.

  • Ghislaine Maxwell is serving 20 years but none of her clients have been named.

The American people aren’t buying it. After years of delays, sealed documents, and unanswered questions, a tidy DOJ memo doesn’t cut it. And Bondi’s stumbles have only amplified the frustration.
