TV legend and comedian Bob Newhart has died at the age of 94 following a series of short illnesses, according to his publicist Jerry Digney. Best known for his iconic roles on “The Bob Newhart Show” in the 70s and “Newhart” in the 80s, Newhart passed away on Thursday at his Los Angeles home.

Newhart's career spanned more than six decades, marked by his satirical and deadpan humor. He first gained national recognition with his 1959 comedy album, “The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart,” which soared to the top of the Billboard charts and cemented his status as a standout comedian. This success led to numerous appearances on the "Ed Sullivan Show" and roles in films such as “Hot Millions,” “On a Clear Day You Can See Forever,” “Catch-22,” and “Cold Turkey.”
