Biden, Kamala, and Trump Show Support for Firefighters in Pennsylvania

Trump receives a hero's welcome while Biden and Harris are barely noticed.

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump all visited firefighters in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. However, the video footage from their visits reveals a stark difference in the reception they received. While Biden and Harris were met with relative indifference, Trump’s arrival sparked cheers and applause from the crowd.

After attending memorial ceremonies at Ground Zero and the Flight 93 National Memorial, all three made stops at the Shanksville Volunteer Fire Department. But the atmosphere shifted dramatically when Trump entered the room. According to the footage, someone excitedly said, “There he is,” as Trump walked in, and the room erupted into cheers.

One person shouted, “The first thing we gotta do is fire Joe,” to which Trump responded, “Oh, yeah, we’ll get him out,” drawing laughter from the crowd.

Key moments from the visit:

  • Biden and Harris were met with a muted response when entering the fire department, receiving little attention from the crowd.

  • Trump was greeted like a hometown hero, with attendees cheering and chanting “U.S.A.” and “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

  • Trump stayed for about an hour, signing autographs, taking photos, and speaking briefly with the crowd, which numbered just over 100.

Trump’s warm reception in Shanksville comes as no surprise. He won Cambria County where Shanksville is located with 68% of the vote in the 2020 presidential election. His visit wasn’t just about the firefighters; Trump was also invited to attend a private memorial ceremony by the families of two 9/11 victims from United Flight 93.

For Biden and Harris, the subdued response in Pennsylvania underscores the uphill battle they face in gaining traction with voters in regions that overwhelmingly support Trump. The former president’s ability to connect with grassroots America was on full display during this visit, as the enthusiastic crowd made clear their loyalty remains firmly with him.
