Liberal Judge Secures Victory in Wisconsin Supreme Court Election

Leftist billionaires outspend conservatives to tip the court and target congressional maps in key swing state.

In a major loss for conservatives and a warning shot for 2026, far-left Judge Susan Crawford has secured a seat on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, ensuring continued liberal control over the court in one of America’s most pivotal swing states.

Crawford, a former Planned Parenthood attorney and outspoken opponent of voter ID laws, defeated conservative challenger Brad Schimel, despite his endorsement from President Donald Trump and backing from Elon Musk’s America PAC. With 98.1% of the vote counted, Crawford held 55% to Schimel’s 45%, fueled by high turnout in deep-blue Milwaukee and Dane counties.

This race shattered spending records, with more than $90 million poured into the campaign making it the most expensive judicial election in U.S. history. Billionaire elites like George Soros and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker opened their wallets to flood the state with cash in support of Crawford, while conservative donors were vastly outspent in what should be a wake-up call for the GOP.

“Crawford isn’t just liberal she’s dangerously liberal,” the Wisconsin GOP warned, citing her legal efforts to kill voter ID laws and her pro-abortion work with Planned Parenthood.

This race wasn’t just about a court seat it was about control of Wisconsin’s congressional maps, elections, and even abortion laws. Democrats have made it no secret that their ultimate goal is to flip House seats by having the court toss out the current legislative maps.

  • In a January fundraising call, Crawford’s allies openly said the race could “put two more House seats in play for 2026.”

  • House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) backed that up, calling for new maps in the name of “fairness” Democrat code for rigging elections under the guise of reform.

A liberal majority on the court now means:

  • Election maps could be redrawn to favor Democrats in a crucial swing state

  • Abortion laws could be rewritten from the bench

  • Voter ID protections may be struck down

  • Conservative union reforms could be rolled back

Crawford’s win ensures the Wisconsin Supreme Court remains a 4-3 liberal majority, cementing judicial activism in a state that could decide the next president and control of Congress.

While conservatives may have lost the court, they did score a separate statewide victory: Wisconsin voters approved a constitutional amendment requiring voter ID, proving that grassroots values still resonate across the state. But the Crawford win is a stark reminder that conservatives cannot afford to sit out judicial races.

Kelsey Pritchard of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America summed up the danger ahead:

“Tonight’s results are disappointing and a blow for human rights and the rule of law… Republican voters should heed this race as a warning on becoming complacent.”

With liberal judges now holding power over the state’s highest court and leftist billionaires emboldened by this win, the fight is far from over.
