White House Calls Whistleblower Allegations Against Schiff A Bombshell
Testimony claims Democrat approved leaking classified info to damage Trump during Russiagate.

The White House is calling new whistleblower testimony alleging that Senator Adam Schiff leaked classified information to damage Donald Trump during the Russiagate investigation a “bombshell” and says the former House Intelligence Committee chairman must be held accountable.
Speaking at Tuesday’s press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the claims come from a Democrat and career intelligence officer who worked for House Democrats for more than a decade. The whistleblower told the FBI in 2017 that Schiff, then a congressman, explicitly approved leaking derogatory classified information about Trump “to be used to indict President TRUMP.”
“In this meeting, SCHIFF stated the group would leak classified information… to indict President TRUMP,” the FBI report states. When the whistleblower warned that such an action would be illegal, members of the meeting allegedly reassured him “they would not be caught.”
Leavitt said Kash Patel, now FBI Director, declassified the FBI’s 302 report detailing the account. Quoting Patel, she said: “For years certain officials used their positions to selectively leak classified information to shape political narratives… It was all done with one purpose: to weaponize intelligence and law enforcement for political gain.”
When asked whether Trump planned to launch an investigation into Schiff, Leavitt reiterated that “the President has already said he wants to see Adam Schiff held accountable for the countless lies he told the American people in relation to the Russiagate scandal.”
Schiff’s office dismissed the allegations as “absolutely and categorically false,” calling them a smear from a “disgruntled former staffer” fired in 2017 for misconduct. They claimed the accusations were deemed unreliable by both Trump’s Justice Department and an independent inspector general.
The whistleblower revelations follow a separate July disclosure from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who released unclassified documents she said show “overwhelming evidence” that Obama-era officials “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to frame Trump with a Russia-collusion narrative after his 2016 election victory over Hillary Clinton.
Schiff, a long-time Trump adversary who led the first impeachment effort against him, is also under a separate criminal investigation for alleged mortgage fraud dating back to the early 2000s accusations he denies.
With the FBI and DOJ now facing calls to investigate, the whistleblower’s claims could reignite the broader debate over political weaponization of intelligence and keep the Trump-Schiff feud burning into the next election cycle.
