Motorcade of Governor Tim Walz Crashes, Resulting in Injuries

A campaign event for vice presidential nominee Tim Walz took a sudden and dangerous turn on Monday when his motorcade was involved in a crash, resulting in injuries to at least one individual. The incident occurred while the Minnesota governor’s entourage was traveling on the interstate in Wisconsin, en route to an event at the Summerfest grounds in Milwaukee.

The vehicles involved in the crash were press pool vans that had been following Walz closely as he campaigned alongside Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI). According to reports, the crash took place at approximately 12:57 p.m., just moments after a press pool report was sent out.

“Several cars in the Walz motorcade crashed at about 12:57 p.m. — just a moment after I sent the last pool report,” the press pool said in a statement. “A staff member in our press van appears to have a broken arm and is being treated by medics.”

The statement went on to describe the scene: “Everyone else is shaken but appears to be in okay condition. We were violently thrown forward, as our van slammed into the one in front of us and was hit from behind.”

Despite the collision and resulting injuries, the vehicles carrying Walz and Rep. Moore reportedly continued on to the Summerfest venue without delay. The motorcade’s continuation has raised questions about the prioritization of the campaign schedule over the well-being of those involved in the crash.
