Majority of Voters (85%) Demand CBS Publish Full Transcript of Kamala Harris' '60 Minutes' Interview

Americans suspect selective editing, with a majority believing the network tried to make Harris look better.

An overwhelming 85% of voters want CBS News to release the full transcript of Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent 60 Minutes interview after accusations surfaced that the network deceptively edited her answers. The demand crosses party lines, with 88% of Republicans and 87% of Democrats calling for CBS to release the unedited transcript, according to a recent poll.

The controversy erupted after CBS aired only a fraction of the interview, which reportedly lasted 45 minutes, but was condensed into a 20-minute televised segment and a 6-minute clip posted to social media. Shockingly, less than 15 minutes of the interview was shown to the public between the two segments, leaving many to question what was left on the cutting room floor.

More than half of those surveyed 53% believed the interview was edited to make Harris look better, while 47% thought it was fair and objective. The growing distrust comes as the mainstream media continues to face accusations of bias and manipulation in favor of the current administration.

One of the most controversial moments involved a discussion about U.S. financial support for Israel in its war against genocidal Islamic terrorists. During the interview, host Bill Whitaker pressed Harris on whether Prime Minister Netanyahu was listening to U.S. concerns. In a promotional clip that aired prior to the full segment, Harris responded by discussing the Biden administration’s advocacy efforts in the region: “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”

Yet when the full interview aired, that statement was mysteriously absent. Instead, CBS showed Harris giving a far more vague response: “We are not gonna stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.” The promotional clip, featuring a more nuanced and involved answer, never made it to the final broadcast, raising questions about why CBS chose to leave it out.

The Trump campaign, prominent U.S. Senators, and even former CBS journalists have called for the network to release the full footage and transcript. Yet CBS has remained silent, dodging questions and refusing to provide any explanation as to why so much of the interview was cut.

The public outcry points to a larger issue: media transparency. When entire sections of interviews are left out, especially when they involve critical issues like U.S. foreign policy, it fuels distrust and raises suspicions of political bias. If the Biden-Harris administration is being shielded from tough scrutiny by networks like CBS, voters have every right to demand the full, unedited truth.

The selective editing has only deepened the perception that the mainstream media is in the business of protecting the current administration rather than holding them accountable. The fact that 85% of Americans want the full transcript released underscores the urgency for CBS to come clean and let the public decide for themselves.
