Venezuela Accuses U.S. of ‘Piracy’ After Trump Seizes Sanctioned Oil Tanker
Maduro lashes out as Trump clamps down on terror-linked oil smuggling network and ramps up military pressure.

The socialist regime of Nicolás Maduro is melting down after President Donald Trump’s administration seized a massive oil tanker off the coast of Venezuela a bold and lawful move that exposed the corrupt dictator’s dark oil smuggling operation and cut off a key revenue stream tied to terrorism.
Maduro’s government released a fiery statement accusing the United States of “blatant theft” and “international piracy” following the seizure of the tanker Skipper, a vessel with a long history of trafficking sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran under fake coordinates.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces and strongly repudiates what constitutes a blatant theft and an act of international piracy,” Maduro’s government whined in a public statement.
The Trump administration made no apologies.
Attorney General Pam Bondi and officials from the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Coast Guard released footage of the operation, showing U.S. forces rappelling from helicopters and boarding the ship in a coordinated strike the largest tanker ever seized by the U.S., according to President Trump.
“We’ve just seized a tanker on the coast of Venezuela… for very good reasons,” Trump confirmed Wednesday. “We’ll keep it, I guess.”
This wasn’t just a show of force it was a direct hit on a criminal regime that’s been using its state-run oil industry to fund terrorism, fuel drug trafficking, and enrich itself at the expense of the Venezuelan people.
Key facts about the seized vessel:
The tanker “Skipper” has transported nearly 13 million barrels of oil from Iran and Venezuela since 2021.
It has long operated as part of the “dark fleet” a network of ships that mask their locations and cargo to avoid detection and sanctions.
Experts say it broadcasts fake GPS data to smuggle oil to rogue nations like Iran and China America’s top adversaries.
Maduro, speaking at a regime rally, told his supporters to be ready to “smash the teeth” of the United States if necessary a laughable threat from a dictator who rigged the 2024 election, lost, and then declared himself the winner anyway.
The Trump administration isn’t bluffing. It has deployed U.S. battleships to the Caribbean, sunk over 20 drug-smuggling vessels, and placed a $50 million bounty on Maduro’s head for his role in what the White House calls a “narco-terrorism conspiracy.”
“If you threaten our nation, or break the law, there is no place on land or sea where we won’t find you,” DHS declared on social media, alongside a clip of the successful raid.
For years, Democrats and the globalist left ignored Venezuela’s crimes, downplayed the threat of socialism, and even eased sanctions under the Biden administration. Meanwhile, Trump has taken decisive action to cripple the Maduro regime’s ability to fund terror and poison American communities with deadly drugs.
This is the America First approach in action:
Secure the hemisphere.
Crush cartel and terror-linked revenue streams.
Hold rogue nations accountable with force, not finger-wagging.
Maduro can cry “piracy” all he wants but the message is clear: under Trump, American strength is back, and enemies of the United States have nowhere to hide.
