Utah Manhunt for Charlie Kirk’s Killer Draws Thousands of Public Tips
Governor says the investigation has generated more leads than the Boston Marathon bombing case.

The hunt for Charlie Kirk’s killer has become one of the most significant manhunts in recent U.S. history, with Utah officials reporting an unprecedented flood of public cooperation.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox revealed Thursday that investigators have received over 7,000 digital tips and leads the most since the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Nearly 200 interviews have already been conducted as police and federal agents work around the clock to track down the gunman who gunned down the 31-year-old conservative activist on the campus of Utah Valley University.
“This case cannot move forward without the public’s help,” Cox told reporters, praising citizens who have stepped forward with information. Authorities are hopeful that newly released photos and video will yield even more leads.
Key developments in the investigation include:
$100,000 FBI reward for information leading to the killer’s arrest.
Newly released video showing the suspect climbing down from a campus rooftop and fleeing.
Photos of the person of interest wearing a shirt with an American flag and bald eagle print, sunglasses, and a black backpack.
Recovery of a high-powered bolt action rifle, believed to be the murder weapon, found in nearby woods.
Officials say the suspect appears to be college-aged and was able to blend in with the student population at Utah Valley University. The FBI emphasized that this individual remains extremely dangerous.
Governor Cox confirmed that Utah prosecutors are preparing to seek the death penalty if the suspect is captured and brought to trial. “Justice will be served,” he vowed.
The tragedy has deeply shaken conservatives across the country. Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance personally accompanied Kirk’s casket on Air Force Two from Utah back to Arizona, where his wife, Erika Frantzve, was visibly emotional during the somber procession.
Kirk’s assassination is more than just an attack on one man it is an attack on free speech and the conservative movement he helped to build. As the manhunt intensifies, Americans wait for justice against the individual who carried out this cowardly act.
