Second Lady Usha Vance Announces Fourth Child with VP JD Vance

Vice president and wife celebrate growing family as White House marks moment for 'most pro-family administration in history.'

The Vance family is growing once again. Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance announced Tuesday that they are expecting their fourth child, a baby boy due in late July. The couple shared the news in a warm statement posted to social media, saying:

“Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the military doctors and staff members who support their family while they serve the nation:

“We are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children.”

The White House celebrated the news, retweeting the announcement with the message:
“The most pro-family administration in history! CONGRATULATIONS!”

Leaders and officials from across the administration chimed in with well-wishes:

  • Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum wrote, “There is no greater joy than being a parent. Honored to work for an administration that puts family first!”

  • Rep. Troy Nehls and Rep. Brandon Gill, both Texas Republicans, also sent congratulatory messages.

  • White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who is also expecting a baby this year, added: “Congratulations to our great @VP and lovely @SLOTUS!”

JD and Usha Vance met at Yale Law School and married in 2014. Usha Vance is a seasoned legal mind, having clerked for both Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and worked as a litigator at Munger, Tolles and Olson before stepping into the national spotlight as Second Lady.

The couple’s three children Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel captured hearts during last year’s Inauguration Day events, where their charm and energy made them unexpected social media favorites.

In a time when traditional family values are too often sidelined by cultural trends, the Vance family continues to lead by example living out the very ideals of faith, family, and service that this administration champions.
