Gabbard Claims Voting for Kamala Means Supporting ‘War’

Gabbard contrasts Trump’s peace-focused policies with Harris’s record on foreign intervention.

At a rally in New York’s Madison Square Garden, former Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard delivered a stark warning to Americans, claiming that a vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for more war. Gabbard, a veteran and recent Republican convert, emphasized the importance of national security and peace, framing the upcoming election as a decisive choice between escalating conflicts and pursuing diplomatic strength.

Gabbard opened her speech by quoting the Declaration of Independence, emphasizing the American values of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” and cautioning that these freedoms are now under threat. “We face this historic crossroads where our freedom and our future are in our hands,” she said. “There’s never been a clearer choice in any election in my life.”

The former Democrat’s message carries personal weight: Gabbard served two decades in the U.S. military and deployed to war zones three times. “I’ve seen the cost of war,” she said. “For my brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate price. I carry their memories and their sacrifice in my heart every day.” She explained that this experience has made the stakes of this election deeply meaningful for her and all Americans who value peace.

  • War vs. Peace: Gabbard drew a hard line, stating that “a vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for Dick Cheney, and it’s a vote for war more war, likely World War III and nuclear war.” In her view, Harris’s approach to foreign policy aligns with a pro-interventionist stance that risks pulling the U.S. into endless wars.

  • Borders and Security: Gabbard also linked Harris’s policies to open borders, warning of an influx of criminals and terrorists. “A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for open borders, where known violent criminals and Islamist terrorists are streaming across our borders,” she asserted. In contrast, she characterized a vote for Trump as a vote for “secure borders and safe communities.”

Calling Trump “a man who wants to end wars, not start them,” Gabbard argued that his presidency represents a shift away from the interventionist policies of recent decades. Gabbard highlighted Trump’s efforts to secure borders, ensure safe communities, and pursue peace on the global stage as an alternative to the aggressive, interventionist policies she associates with the Harris ticket.

Gabbard’s closing words urged Americans to think carefully about what’s at stake. This election, she warned, is a decision between two dramatically different futures. “Our ability to live in a truly peaceful and free and prosperous country is on the line,” Gabbard concluded, underscoring the importance of a peaceful path forward.
