Tulsi Gabbard Calls Islamist Ideology the Greatest Threat to Freedom

Former Congresswoman and current Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard delivered a sobering message at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest this weekend. Islamist ideology, not climate change or social media, is the most dangerous threat to freedom in the world today.

And it’s already taking root in the West. “There is a threat to our freedom that hasn’t been talked about enough,” Gabbard said. “And it is the greatest near and long-term threat to both our freedom and our security, and that is the threat of Islamist ideology.”

Unlike watered-down political rhetoric that dances around uncomfortable truths, Gabbard pulled no punches. She explained that the ideology she’s warning about is not just extreme it is inherently incompatible with the values enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.

• As Gabbard noted, it was this ideology that fueled the 9/11 terror attacks, and the same radical worldview continues to inspire jihadist violence today.

• In Europe, the threat is now so significant that Germany is canceling Christmas markets due to fears of terrorist attacks. Yes Christmas is being canceled to appease those who hate the very foundation of Western civilization.

“It is a political ideology that seeks to create a global caliphate that governs us here in America,” Gabbard warned. “And if you dare to exercise your God-given right to free speech... they will use violence or any means they deem necessary to silence us.”

Gabbard also honored the late Charlie Kirk, saying he understood this threat better than most and warned others about it. She reinforced the idea that freedom is not self-sustaining it must be defended, especially from ideologies that reject the very concept of God-given rights.

What’s most alarming is that the ideology is no longer confined to faraway regions. Thanks to decades of weak immigration policies, globalist appeasement, and political correctness run amok, it has seeped into American communities, politics, and education.

While the Biden administration is focused on misgendering and climate extremism, Islamist terror networks are rebuilding, particularly after the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban in 2021. In 2023 alone, European nations saw a 30% increase in Islamist-inspired terror plots, many of which were thwarted at the last minute. And back home? DHS recently acknowledged that radical Islamic groups are attempting to exploit the open southern border.

This is not a conspiracy theory it is a reality that our media and political elites refuse to confront.

Gabbard’s message was clear: Know your enemy, and be willing to defend your freedom. Recognizing that our rights come from God, not government, is the first step in resisting an ideology that recognizes neither.
