Tulsi Gabbard Refers Intelligence Leakers for Criminal Charges
New DNI Tulsi Gabbard is taking a sledgehammer to the deep-state leakers sabotaging national security from within.

Tulsi Gabbard isn't wasting time cleaning house. As the newly appointed Director of National Intelligence under President Trump, Gabbard is already making waves this week referring multiple intelligence leakers for criminal prosecution and warning more are coming.
In a clear break from the business-as-usual rot of Washington’s intelligence bureaucracy, Gabbard announced Wednesday that she has officially referred two unauthorized intelligence leaks to the Department of Justice, with a third referral on the way. One of those leaks reportedly involves classified material related to Iran and Israel, which was handed off to The Washington Post earlier this year.
“Those who leak classified information will be found and held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” Gabbard posted on X. “These deep-state criminals leaked classified information for partisan political purposes to undermine POTUS’ agenda.”
Let’s not forget this is the same Intelligence Community that spent years leaking selectively to sabotage Donald Trump’s presidency from within. From fake Russia-collusion narratives to whisper campaigns against his foreign policy, unelected bureaucrats have treated the media as their personal megaphone to undermine America First.
Now that Trump is back and serious adults like Gabbard are in charge, the swamp is finally being drained starting with the leakers.
Here’s what we know so far:
One leak involved sensitive disclosures on Iran and Israel, directly undermining U.S. diplomatic positioning.
Another may have come from inside a Signal group chat, where Trump officials discussed potential airstrikes on Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen. Though the administration denies any classified info was leaked, the group was exposed thanks to a media-friendly “automated suggestion” mishap on an iPhone.
Gabbard is also investigating disclosures made to NBC, The Record, HuffPost, and other legacy media outfits all of which conveniently aligned with anti-Trump narratives.
With the DOJ and FBI now expected to take up the cases, the question is whether they’ll follow through or continue playing partisan games as they did during the Biden years. Under Biden, the intelligence agencies were essentially lawless—weaponized against political opponents while ignoring clear violations within their own ranks.
Here’s why this matters now more than ever:
The U.S. Intelligence Community has 18 agencies and hundreds of thousands of employees. Without strong oversight, it's a breeding ground for political sabotage.
A recent 2024 poll by Gallup found that trust in the federal government to handle national security has dropped to 45% a sharp decline since Trump left office.
Leaks often come just before major policy decisions or elections, designed to manipulate public opinion and derail America First policies.
By holding leakers accountable, Gabbard is restoring not just integrity, but also public trust in our national security institutions. For years, whistleblowers and traitors alike have operated under the same broken system, protected by media cover and political favoritism.
That’s over.
Gabbard, a combat veteran and former Congresswoman, was confirmed to her role in February with a narrow 52-48 Senate vote. One month later, she vowed to track and root out politically motivated leaks. On Wednesday, she delivered on that promise.
The deep state has long operated in the shadows. Tulsi Gabbard is turning on the lights.
