Trump Meets Zelensky At Vatican In Breakthrough Peace Talks

President Donald Trump is once again taking charge on the world stage, meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky early Saturday at St. Peter’s Basilica, just minutes before Pope Francis' funeral began. The two leaders discussed the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia in what both sides described as a “very productive” conversation, marking a stark contrast to the failed diplomacy under Joe Biden’s weak administration.

This 15-minute private meeting comes just two months after Trump and Zelensky’s last interaction at the White House, which ended with Trump criticizing Zelensky for not being ready for real peace negotiations. This time, however, the tone was different and optimistic.

Here’s what unfolded:

• Trump and Zelensky agreed that securing a full and unconditional ceasefire must be the priority, a goal the Biden team has proven utterly incapable of achieving.

• Zelensky publicly thanked Trump, stating their meeting could become “historic” if it leads to real results.

• Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, arrived in Moscow simultaneously, pressing Russian leadership directly for a peace settlement.

Earlier on Friday, Trump posted to Truth Social that Russia and Ukraine are “very close” to a peace deal. He urged both sides to finalize the agreement, emphasizing the urgency: “Stop the bloodshed, NOW.”

Meanwhile, Biden continues to funnel billions of taxpayer dollars into the Ukrainian conflict without any coherent strategy for peace. According to a recent analysis by the Congressional Research Service, the U.S. has sent over $113 billion to Ukraine since 2022, with little to show for it except prolonged suffering and instability.

Adding even more momentum to U.S.-Ukraine relations, Trump reminded Zelensky to finalize the Rare Earths Deal with America a critical move to secure U.S. supply chains and reduce dependence on China. The deal, already three weeks overdue, would ensure access to minerals vital for manufacturing and defense, further strengthening American security and economic power.

While establishment media continues to prop up Biden’s failed policies, Trump is out there doing what real leaders do working tirelessly to end a cruel and senseless war.
