Trump Says Putin Has ‘Gone Crazy,’ Warns He’s ‘Playing With Fire’
Former president blasts Putin and Zelenskyy, says only his leadership kept Russia from facing ‘really bad things.’

President Donald Trump issued a fierce warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, declaring the Kremlin leader is “playing with fire” and claiming that only Trump’s prior leadership prevented Russia from facing catastrophic consequences.
“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He’s playing with fire!”
The statement comes as Putin intensifies his attacks on Ukraine, including launching the largest drone assault since the start of the war. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian forces launched 355 drones and 9 cruise missiles in a single night overwhelming cities, infrastructure, and civilians.
Trump’s comments reflect increasing frustration not only with Putin’s brutal military campaign but with Ukraine’s leadership as well. In a prior post, Trump blasted Zelenskyy’s behavior: “Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.”
He also took aim at the Western globalist class for allowing the war to spiral out of control. “This is a war that would never have started if I were president,” Trump said. “This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s war not ‘Trump’s.’ I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”
But Trump’s warning struck a nerve in Moscow. Dmitry Medvedev, the former Russian president and now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, responded with a chilling message of his own. “I only know of one REALLY BAD thing WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!” Medvedev wrote, a thinly veiled threat hinting at nuclear escalation.
This is the dangerous reality created by weak Western leadership. Biden’s toothless foreign policy has emboldened Putin, while Zelenskyy’s constant posturing has frustrated allies and complicated diplomatic efforts. Meanwhile, Trump the only leader who had productive relationships with both sides remains sidelined as the war escalates.
Under Trump, Russia didn’t dare invade Ukraine. There were no drone swarms over cities. No missiles raining down on civilians. Trump’s policy of peace through strength worked, and the world knew it.
Today, under Biden and his globalist allies, we’re watching a slow march toward a conflict that could engulf the world. And despite Trump’s repeated calls for peace, including suggestions to hold talks at the Vatican, the current administration and their European counterparts continue to reject the one man who could actually bring both sides to the table.
It’s no coincidence that the world was more stable under Trump. The message was clear: Cross the line, and there will be consequences. Today’s leaders offer hashtags and talking points Trump offered deterrence.
