Trump Warns Hamas of Total Destruction if Peace Deal Rejected
With global support mounting behind a U.S.-backed plan, Hamas faces a stark choice between surrender or annihilation.

President Donald Trump issued a clear warning to Hamas this week accept the U.S.-brokered peace deal or face “complete obliteration.” As the war in Gaza continues to grind on with mounting pressure from Arab nations and the West, Trump made it plain Hamas is running out of options.
In a private exchange with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Trump confirmed that if Hamas refuses to step down from power and release its remaining hostages, there will be devastating consequences. “Only time will tell,” Trump added when asked whether the terror group had already blown its last chance by digging in on demands like no disarmament and maintaining full control of Gaza.
Trump's stance has ignited international attention. His administration’s 20-point peace plan unveiled alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu outlines a path toward a Palestinian state but makes Hamas’ cooperation a non-negotiable first step. As of now, the terror group holds 48 hostages, with only 28 confirmed alive.
Key terms of the U.S.-backed peace proposal include:
Hamas must release all remaining hostages immediately.
In return, Israel will scale back military operations to positions held in August 2024.
Israel agrees to release over 1,900 Palestinian prisoners, including 250 serving life sentences.
A framework for Palestinian self-governance, under international oversight, is introduced.
While the plan has gained strong support from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey, skepticism remains over Hamas' willingness or ability to follow through. The group’s history of broken agreements casts doubt on any signals of cooperation. As Netanyahu privately told Trump, Hamas' posture isn’t cause for celebration yet.
Trump, however, remains cautiously optimistic. “They’re in negotiation right now as we speak,” he told reporters. “I’m hearing it’s going very well.” Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed the sentiment, stating it’s “the closest we’ve come to getting all the hostages released.”
Still, Trump made clear that peace isn’t guaranteed, and that swift action is essential.
“TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OR, MASSIVE BLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW,” he wrote on Truth Social.
This isn’t just Trump posturing. The threat of "complete obliteration" isn't idle talk Israel has already made massive gains in northern Gaza, and with U.S. air and intelligence support, the IDF could fully decapitate Hamas leadership within weeks if negotiations collapse.
Let’s not forget:
Over 1,200 Israelis were murdered in the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack that reignited this war.
Hamas has fired over 18,000 rockets into Israeli territory since then.
U.S. intelligence estimates place Hamas' remaining armed forces below 4,000 fighters down from over 20,000 before the war began.
The math isn’t in Hamas' favor. Their ideology may be rigid, but the geopolitical reality is clear: either they bow out or they get buried.
