Trump Declares It Is Time to Wage War on the Cartels

Announces full-scale crackdown on Mexican drug cartels and MS-13.

President Donald Trump delivered a historic speech before Congress, making it clear that his administration is launching an all-out war against the Mexican drug cartels and violent gangs like MS-13. Trump, who designated these criminal organizations as foreign terrorist groups on his first day back in office, vowed that their reign of terror will come to an end.

“The cartels are waging war on America, and it is time for America to wage war on the cartels,” Trump declared. “Two weeks ago, I officially designated this gang, along with MS-13 and the bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartels, as foreign terrorist organizations. They are now officially in the same category as ISIS.”

  • Trump promised that every cartel-linked criminal welcomed under Biden’s weak border policies will be “rounded up and forcibly removed” from the country.

  • He called attention to the tragic murders of Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley, killed by illegal aliens tied to the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.

  • In just under two months, Trump has already pressured Mexico into handing over 29 cartel leaders to the U.S. in an unprecedented show of cooperation.

Former ICE Director and now Border Czar Tom Homan reinforced Trump’s message, stating that the administration will use the “full might” of the federal government to dismantle cartel operations worldwide. “We’re not just going to attack them on the southern border, we’re going to attack them across the globe,” Homan said.

One of the key strategies in crushing the cartels is cutting off their funding. By sealing the border and preventing drug and human smuggling, Trump’s administration is ensuring that these criminal enterprises are starved of the resources they need to operate. “If they don’t have money, they don’t have power,” Homan explained. “We’re going to shut them down one piece at a time.”

Under Biden, cartel violence thrived, fentanyl poured into American communities, and innocent lives were lost. Now, under Trump, the days of cartel dominance are numbered.
